    it's that simple.
The USSR was composed of 15 states which was centrally governed by the biggest state - Russia. These states went on its merry way when the union was abolished. Some of these states are not aligned with Moscow like Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova, Georgia, and Ukraine. A few of these states are still loyal to Moscow like Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

i asked myself this question: has ww3 started yet?

    for the west, not yet

tingin ko, para putin it has already started

because para kay putin pinagtulungan siya ng madaming bansa

the west is supplying weapons to ukraine

the west is providing intelligence to ukraine

the west imposed economic sanctions on ukraine

the west sent trainers to ukraine

maari para kay putin declaration of war na mga yan

it's the west that thinks ww3 hasn't yet started

US/EU/NATO is supplying weapons to ukraine

saan pumapasok ang weapons? from poland/ukraine border -- the city of Lviv (just look at map of ukraine)

kung para kay putin ung tulong ng west = war, then it's a target

    what did russia do yesterday?

Russian airstrikes hit a large military base near the western city of Lviv, which is close to the Polish border, killing 35 people and leaving more than 130 in hospital, the Lviv regional administration said. More than 30 missiles fired from warplanes over the Black and Azov seas hit the military base, according to a statement.

"These sanctions that are being imposed are akin to a declaration of war but thank God it has not come to that," Putin said,
speaking to a group of flight attendants at an Aeroflot training centre near Moscow.

He said any attempt by another power to impose a no-fly zone in Ukraine would be considered by Russia to be a step into the military conflict. Such a step he said would have catastrophic consequences for Europe and the world.

Japan planned pearl harbor for more than a year. Kaya nga japs in Hawaii were rounded out, the US didn't know friend from enemy so nanigurado. Matindi intelligence na ginawa ng Japan.

By joining the axis, Japan knew somehow what will most probably happen. They only had doubts kaya late ang attack. But you don't plan a sneak attack if you really didn't want it.

Please get your history right. The area occupied by modern day Ukraine was split between the Austrian empire and the Russian empire. However, much of Ukraine came under Russian rule during the time of Catherine the Great.

Ukraine fought for its independence during the time of the Bolshevik revolution and separate Ukrainian states were created. These states though were subsumed by the USSR.

In WW2, some Ukrainians fought with Germany against the Russians. It was of no big result as the Germans were defeated. Ukraine got its independence in 1992.

I kinda agree. Putin went into this with his mind made up to go to war against NATO and its allies.
The question is will Russia go on this alone?

Remember, China's economy is at its peak now. Will they go to war with Russia and risk all the gains in the past decades?

    History of Kyiv - Wikipedia

Ukraine did not start as a big country as it is just like how Athens and Greece are called city states.

Putin is saying they own Ukraine when in fact Kyiv and Ukrainians have a longer history that they have.

Kyiv, the center and birthplace of Ukraine was never Russian.

Ukraine was just in the middle of Eastern Europe and coveted by empires since the Middle Ages.

Korek. Most of these countries were subjugated by major empires. The end of WW2 brought forth a number of new countries.

And this current invasion's like the blockade/invasion of Naboo in "The Phantom Menace".

Putin's Senator Palpatine a.k.a. Darth Sidous?

Sabi sa news both sides have non-compromisable stance that were agreed upon. I do believe independence would be for Ukraine but that they would not further their ambition of joining NATO nor make military agreements with NATO or any other western nation. Yan lang naman dalawa yan pinaka-mabigat na gusto nila. Hopefully in the next few days a ceasefire would be announced na.
