The USSR was composed of 15 states which was centrally governed by the biggest state - Russia. These states went on its merry way when the union was abolished. Some of these states are not aligned with Moscow like Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Moldova, Georgia, and Ukraine. A few of these states are still loyal to Moscow like Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
