Bad news for the Philippine defense establishment as the Trump administration halted all foreign military aid for the next 9 0days, except for emergency military and relief aid to Egypt and Israel.
The US currently has an ongoing commitment worth US$500 million of military aid for the Philippines, of which we are not sure how much have already been provided.
The US also has a pending Philippine Enhanced Resilience Act (PERA) that was suppose tp provide US$2 billion in military aid to the Philippines, targetted for 2025-2026.

He is South African born and raised. His father was too. And his mother was raised there.

He has ancestors born in South African back to a great grandmother. His father, Errol, was born in SA. He is English, Afrikaner, and French Huguenot ancestry. ElonÂ’s paternal grandfather was Walter Henry James Musk. Walter was born in Pretoria, South Africa. ElonÂ’s great grandmother was born there too. His father, Errol, got rich in the Apartheid system. He still lives there. He was never, ever part of fighting Apartheid.

His mother was born in Canada. Her father moved to Canada from Minnesota in America and married a Canadian from Alberta. He moved his family with ElonÂ’s mother from Canada to Pretoria, South Africa when she was two. She was raised, schooled and married in South Africa. That makes her Canadian in law only. She lived there from 1950 to 1989 She was a finalist in the 1969 Miss South Africa beauty competition. She was also a part of Apartheid. She did not protest or take part on actions. She did not flee.

I know white South Africans who fought it and had to go into exile in San Diego. People who helped Biko. The Musk family sucked the blood. His family had privilege and wealth rooted in a monstrous racial system.

Elon grew in the suburbs of Pretoria, which at the time was whites-only and extremely privileged during full Apartheid. He went to the Pretoria Boys High School, a racist whites-only school. Being of a white South African gave him access to privilege, private education, and abundant opportunities, while most people of color in his country were forced to endure racism, poverty, and oppression.

He did not leave because of Apartheid. He left to avoid military service obligatory in RPA. He had the wealth to go to Canada for two years of college. Then he went to Penn to two more in the states. It is not at all the case that “all white South Africans did this”. Just from random contacts, (like my sister’s boyfriend) I have known a number of people whose families not only worked against Apartheid, but had to flee into exile in the USA to avoid the government oppression of political dissent.

Musk is a white South African from a type of privilege that was provided by oppression of other South Africans. And as is often common for white South Africans, he part Afrikaner and part British and part Huguenot.

$1.14 billion to build a port and power plant in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake - a project promoted by Bill Clinton. Nothing was actually built.

$74 million evaporated in 2006 under the title "Promoting Democracy in Cuba."

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
The list goes on. It seems that Musk and Trump would enjoy revealing more and more such data.

Trump takes action to ban transgender women from women’s sports

President Donald Trump took executive action Wednesday to deliver on a political issue central to his 2024 campaign: banning transgender women from competing in women’s sports.

Trump signed an executive order titled “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” at an afternoon signing ceremony in the East Room, surrounded by dozens of women and some young girls in athletic uniforms.

“With this executive order, the war on women’s sports is over,” the president said.
