    interesting video sir.

Pardon my naivety, but assuming that the Arab Spring wasn't a US/Western plot, it seems that the Syrian mess started way before the US/Russia meddled in it, amongst the ME countries/jihadists/ethnic groups. Assad's heavy-handedness basically gave people a reason to take up arms. When the neighbors saw that Syria was in civil war, they took advantage of that weakness to carve out their own territories.

And some people are blaming the US/West for the refugee crisis? Seems like the ME had no trouble causing this mess on their own.

Given that many "players" in the war, from a purely strategic POV, wouldn't it be best to let them fight it out amongst themselves, then walk in and sweep off the survivors while they're weak/overextended?

Russia won't give up on Assad since his presence gurantee their only warm water naval base. But even if Assad does fall, the mess won't end there since there are many groups fighting among themselves. Libya is a good example what happens when no single group emerged as the victor after a dictator falls.

Tribal mentality is not compatible with the concept of nation state and democracy.

Video=> Putin Lectures Obama on Arab Spring: “Do You Realize What You Have Done?”

Barack Obama supported regime change in Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia, Libya and Syria.
Today the Middle East is a bastion of Islamist violence, poverty, and human suffering.

    F*cking Obama's Arab Spring.

Again pardon my ignorance: just how did Obama pull off Arab Spring? afaik it didn't start with military action, coup, etc., people were marching in the streets. imho for somebody to pull that off, they should have had quite a deal of influence, at the grassroots at that.

On one hand he has no clue about the ME; on the other, he masterminded Arab Spring. And if he's in bed with the Saudis, etc., wouldn't those parties have advised against Arab Spring, since their *$$es are on the line if the ME destabilizes?

To say that the United States did it on purpose assumes too much intelligence on the part of the US.

Not really anything surprising or new in this video for anyone who follows the news (and it's probably been posted elsewhere), but a comprehensive look at how American actions in the Middle East led to ISIS.
