Interesting result. Does this mean the leftist cause is waning? Or is the public getting tired of their antics?
MANILA, Philippines - Bayan Muna party-list representative and senatorial candidate Satur Ocampo lost the first round of debates against rival senatorial bet, Bantay party-list Rep. Jovito Palparan, in ABS-CBN's HARAPAN: Mga Isyu ng Bayan debates Sunday night at La Consolacion College in Manila.
The debate, the first ever of its kind among rival senatorial candidates, again made use of the Wireless Audience Response System (WARS), which polled audience response from 180 select viewers from Dagupan, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro and Manila.
After the first round, 73.7% of the WARS audience said they did not believe Ocampo while only 26.3% said they believed the Bayan Muna lawmaker.
On the other hand, 57.1% of the WARS audience said they believed Palparan while 42.9% said they did not believe him.

I find it quite funny that Satur actually nodded (that seemed like in a subconscious manner) when Palparan mentioned that he was a leader of the NPA.
I'm not in line with the Ocampo and Maza ticket, especially with their activist style of politics. Activists are full of talk, and that's just about it.

the NPA claim to be fighting for the poor
but the NPA is nothing more than an organized crime syndicate
their main activity is extortion
we have a number of customers in provinces who have been and are being extorted by the NPA
that fighting-for-the-poor thing is pure crapLast edited by uls; April 19th, 2010 at 12:50 PM.

kaya hindi madeve-develop ang madaming probinsya
dahil sa dami ng lawless armed groups all over the country
armed groups who claim to be fighting for something but in reality they're just after money
NPA, MILF, Abu Sayyaf etc
parepareho lang sila
mga tamad, ayaw magtrabaho
mas gusto nila mangholdap, mag extort ng pera sa mga naghahanapbuhay ng maayos
fighting for a cause
bullsh*t

im just wondering about Satur Ocampo's ads along the streets
why does he have to put a Commnist Logo; the one that is colored RED and with design of a caret, its somewhat a logo of Russia

I recalled during an election-related segment in Unang Hirit wherein Ocampo was asked why, after all this time, he did not even once condemn the atrocities committed by the NPA.
He answered that it was not his job to do so, and that that was the job of the peace monitoring-negotiating panel.
Hm... obvious skirt around.
