ILOILO CITY – Eight years after he was ousted over corruption scandals, former president Joseph Estrada said on Tuesday he was “99.9 percent” sure of running for president in the 2010 elections.
"It seems impossible now that the opposition will field only one presidential candidate. There is a 99.9 percent chance that I will be running for president," Estrada told a press conference on Tuesday here and attended by opposition leaders and prospective candidates.

Kalokohan talaga... Siguradong maraming mag cocontest sa mga rival candidates regarding his eligibility to run.

    Erap-Chiz tandem looms in 2010

MANILA, Philippines - Former President Joseph Estrada wants Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero to be his running mate if he decides to run for president in 2010, a source from the opposition said.
The source, who requested anonymity, said Estrada prefers Escudero over Sen. Loren Legarda and Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay because of his good ratings in surveys.
“Escudero is the strongest vice presidential candidate among the opposition. President Estrada is inclined to choose Escudero. The next survey is coming in 10 days and that will be a deciding factor,” the source said.

OT: Japan just had their elections and the ruling party won by a landslide. Yukio Hatoyama, who holds a Doctorate in Engineering at Stanford, is set to be the next prime minister.

Why don't we ever have presidents (PM in their country) like these. The best person who came close is Raul Roco, who passed away before his time.

Ang gulo din ng pulitika dyan sa Japan eh halos every year palit ng palit ng PM. Yung tumagal lang talaga si Junichiro Koizumi.

^^This time it's different (for better or worse, it may yet to be seen).
The uber-conservative ruling party who's been in place for 54 years finally loses power.

That's the feature of a parliament system. palit ng palit.

If it allows more lenient immigration laws, then I'm all for it. personally, I think Japan will be in decline from this decade on.

Just saw Mar Roxas live on TV at Club Filipino, announcing his support for Noynoy Aquino as their party's presidential bet for next year's elections.

Mar Roxas is cutting his losses. He is not ranking that high in the surveys inspite of spending millions for his info-mercials.

Ang labo nilang 2 (Roxas and Aquino). Roxas drops his bid for the presidency for Noynoy, but according to Noynoy, he's still not decided if he'll run for president.
