TRUE.

getting elected means you're being popular as a willing plain spender. popularity and money during elections are indispensable...without money lalangawin ka...pag nilalangaw ka, di ka popular. pag dika popular, ala ka sa pwesto.

OT na, pero i need to share this. i happened to pass and see that a lot of people are queuing in the gate of a Congressman's house to ask for Christmas groceries...i just detested it...the electorate too, greatly contributes and creates enormous pressure for their Congressman to make more money and in the process pushing him to be corrupt. haaaay...

What election are you talking about?

    Anyone but Erap

    Cojuangco party bucks unity slate

    Manila Standard
    August 13, 2009

    by Christine F. Herrera

THE Nationalist People’s Coalition will not sacrifice its presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the sake of uniting the opposition as suggested by former President Joseph Estrada.

The party would only agree to a single opposition slate if the other parties such as the Nacionalista Party of Senator Manny Villar, the Liberal Party of Senator Mar Roxas, Estrada’s Partido ng Masang Pilipino and Mayor Jejomar Binay’s United Opposition would carry the NPC’s presidential bet.

Gatchalian was referring to Senators Loren Legarda and Francis Joseph Escudero, who both ran under the Genuine Opposition party in the 2007 mid-term elections and ranked first and second, respectively.

Escudero and Legarda are garnering high ratings in the popularity surveys of Pulse Asia and the Social Weather Stations, Gatchalian noted. “It’s really a toss-up between Senators Escudero and Legarda as far as NPC’s standard bearer is concerned,” he stressed.

Gusto ko yan! President Noynoy Aquino . . .

And there's no such thing as United Opposition. There will never be.

I hope someone like Eddie Gil run again just to provide comic relief... Sino pa yung isa yung pro-American? Si Elly Pamatong ata yun...

Here I got this from Wikipedia, laugh trip talaga!

    Eddie Gil's candidacy

The Commission on Elections originally affirmed the candidacies of six people for the president. The sixth person running for president was Eduardo "Eddie" Gil, a known Marcos loyalist. The party of Eduardo Villanueva filed a petition with the COMELEC seeking to disqualify Eddie Gil on the basis of him being a nuisance candidate, his incapacity to mount a nationwide campaign, and that because he was running with the aim to confuse voters because of their similar names.
Eddie Gil claims to be an international banker having a net worth of billions of dollars. His platform for presidency promised to make every Filipino a millionaire within his first 100 days of being elected. He also promised to pay off the Philippines' debt, worth trillions of pesos, from his own pocket. This was widely ridiculed, especially after a recent incident in which a check he had issued to pay his hotel bills during a campaign sortie, bounced.
