I think only the CBCP is not in favor of divorce.

So many marriages are now broken. We need a divorce law for them. So they can move on with their lives.

Divorce bill gets Senate panel’s nod | Inquirer

Instituting divorce is part of Senate Bill No. 2443, which aims to expand the grounds for the dissolution of marriage.

It was approved by the Senate committee on women, children, family relation and gender equality, which also released a report for plenary approval.

Listed as authors of the consolidated bill are panel head, Senator Risa Hontiveros, Senators Raffy Tulfo, Robin Padilla, Senators Pia Cayetano, and Imee Marcos.

Aside from the five authors, four others also signed the panel report, including Senators JV Ejercito, Grace Poe, Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III and Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda.

Bill only applicable to civil wed couples.
Same principle as annulment only cheaper by 30k, from 80k for annulment to 50k to file a case.

let us remember that in the philippines, marriages usually come in two levels: civil and religious.
while congress may now soon allow divorce for civil marriages, religious marriages may not be within its sphere of accuracy.
i.e., while you may now be legally divorced, you in all probability are still religion-wise, still married to each other.
so will you sleep well at night, after having been legally divorced? that depends on your relationship with your religion.
