There was an interview today with Etta Rosales, a martial law victim, raped and tortured by military, and a former CHR chairperson.

She said, if that is the law, that old people are given consideration, then that is ok. We follow the law. But the courts also said she is convicted of graft. And under the law, Imelda Marcos should be arrested. Etta said Marcos can even appeal to SC because that is the law. But for now, she is proven guilty by the Sandiganbayan courts and should be under custody of police authority for proper procedure.

That actually make sense. Many of the martial law victims are celebrating, not because they know the old Marcos will get jailed. That would be ideal. But the victory lies in the fact that under proper procedure, she was convicted, proven guilty, thru evidence, and that decision will be part of our history. No more history revisionism like when Enrile said no one was killed or tortured under ML.

Whether she gets jailed or not, the victims are happy simply that she was found guilty.

Also I think, many simply wants to see her arrested and have that mug shot. Because that will be the icon of justice for them. And that the law has finally caught up with the Marcoses, after 30 years of graft charges.

For the latter, the taxpayers, especially Marcos fans, will get the privilege(sarcasm intended) to foot the bill of the hospital costs. Good times for Marcos fans, eh?
