Perhaps we should not generalize on what the experience of others on the board are and assume that they "don't know kaya..."or "have not experienced kaya...". On the other side of the coin, the very reason why i have reservations on a kamay na bakal regime is because my family has experienced being blackmailed by people in power, and we've had close friends picked up and summarily killed with no regard to giving them their day in the court of law. Have you had your family shadowed by NISA/NICA? Have you had the sole breadwinner of your family resign from an job he's had for 25 years because he did not bend on his principles and accede to the "requests" of powers-that-be? Have you had someone close to you killed because what they believed in was contrary to what the powers-that-be want? Everyone has their own experience that form their principles and beliefs so to speak. Yes, peace and order is a problem but the way he wants things done appears to be opposite to the institutions of this country that we are trying to fix (judiciary, legislative, law enforcement, etc.). The reason why a lot of things went to the dogs during Martial Law was because of the lack of check and balances when the Legislative Arm was shuttered and the Military was overempowered.

It is more prudent to temper one's expectations given what a lot are pushing and expecting from a Duterte presidency; Do you honestly think that those kidnappings will go away under a Duterte regime? Given that he has the best of interests for peace and order, he cannot catch and shoot every criminal and syndicate in the Philippines on his own and will have to rely on the cooperation of others (men in uniform, Justice Dept., LGUs, etc.). To do so perhaps he will have to give them drastic powers to be able to really do such and how those individuals or groups will use that power is what can be quite scary. That's why there is a need to see the platform on how he intends to do such (and do away with general statements). Again, peace and order is just one aspect of our country. There are many, many more things on the table that is why our fellow tsikoteers really want to see all aspirants present their platforms squarely for all to know and understand.

Kidding aside, we would really want to see how the good mayor plans to implement his platform and the programs he built in Davao (using due process, and proper government institutions). If it's listed somewhere or i missed it on this thread, a link would be good.
