I’ve met so many hardworking people who are unable to get out of poverty despite working long hours per day.

The marginalized are the ones most vulnerable to corrupt governance.

Halika, samahan mo ko at sabihin mo yan sa harap mismo nung mga magsasaka na umaga hanggang hapon nagbabanat ng buto, lugi pa pagdating ng anihan, kulang pa binayad sa pang-abono.

There’s a community of farmers my friend and I support. They’re among the most hardworking people I’ve ever met yet they’ve also been the ones most affected by government’s inadequacy.

I agree that corruption will remain present regardless of who sits in Malacañang - the difference lies in whether the tone from the top is to let such practices fester, or if we will actively work towards eradicating it.

The farmers we support are unable to buy their own million-peso crossovers because they don’t even earn enough to buy the land that they till, send their kids to college, and cover medical expenses if anyone in the household falls sick.

At the very least, these people deserve a president who doesn’t condone corruption and who pays their taxes in full, so that the government has more funds to work with to provide for their systemic needs - irrigation, financing, social support.
