Amazing how Digong's supporters are twisting themselves in knots trying to defend/reinterpret the joke when he's already admitted it was a bad joke.

But the guy is teflon. It will not erode his support base, but it might tighten up the "undecided" vote and send them over to other candidates.

yup, judging from the huge crowd in his campaign in Iloilo, I think Duterte has solid voters - I like to call them fans because Philippine election is more of popularity contest even among the educated and class ABC. However, I dont belittle the effect of his rape jokes to those casual voters. More likely It will affect the casual voters but I doubt its a lost case for him. Its redeemable. As I said, his performance in the upcoming presidential debate this Sunday is crucial. Im anticipating that the other candidates will gang up on him. Let us see if it will work or it will back fire and make Duterte the underdog. Remember filipinos love teleseryes and they love bidas na pinagkakaisahan ng mga mayayaman. Lets see if Duterte is capable and intelligent enough to act like that on Sunday. Lets see if the other candidates will fall into this kind of trap.
