at least mas mura yung litro ng diesel kesa gaso hehe
tama... hehe ganun katakaw ang pajero?
btw, OT konti, dba somebody said may diesel E150? or was it chevy a101(not sure) ba yun? yung van...
my purpose by asking is that i intend to get an SUV for my next car...i don't mind the gas guzzling of the v8's...
and yes, there's diesel E150 but not available here in manila...
i assume for on road used ito and maybe a accidental light trailing, i'd say go for the prado diesel man o gas.
kingmarc,
the suburban is much larger than the prado, and even land cruisers and patrols. GM quality, however, is till nowhere near the japanese: you can feel it in the Fischer-Price plastics inside, for example. if you have no intention of going off-road, the 4x2 Suburban (or Expedition) makes for a better cruiser than the patrol and the smaller Pajero/Prado, particularly if you want space, long-wheelbase comfort, and big-V8 power.
try to ask johnqpublic318 over at 4x4ph.com or Ai regarding american SUVs, he has some good input about them.
btw, car & driver magazine consistently judged the 5.4L expedition as inferior to the Suburban and, in particular, the Tahoe. and we only get the 4.6L over here. (although iba din naman yung specs nung US tahoe and the local one, but it should give you a professional idea)
If you don't plan on using it for off-road work, a big van makes more sense...
Just my opinion.
If I didn't need the 4wd and trail-ability of the Pajero, I'd be driving a Grandia, Starex or Carnival right now...

I wonder if it's just me, but I find it more relaxing when driving vans. Suspension and seating arrangements do make up for comfort ride.Originally posted by OTEP

I like the Starex's and Carnivals driving position. They ride great, too.
Saka maluwag ang cabin.
Yung Hi-Ace gusto ko lang panghakot ng tao. Sarap din kasi dalhin nung MB100 namin.Kaya lang type ko styling ng Grandia. Hehehe. OT na tayo.

Hey, I used to think with all the amount the SUV has, it must have great comfort in it... but nooooo!!! Later when I found out that the added value makes up for the transfer case and 4WD equiptment only, ofcourse added the fact that you can install much larger tires than vans. :D

i've tried the new and old expedition, the present suburban and tahoe (all local versions), pero mas gusto ko yung Tahoe, mas maliit so easier to drive around the city (although hindi halata compared to the expedition), mas matipid sa gas (sabi ng tito ko) and mas comfortable i-drive kaysa exped. the problem with the suburban is, its just too damn long! parang elf ang dinadrive ko eh!
The designers at Mitsubishi decided to tackle the Offroad issue from the other side. Make no mistake, the Gen3 is sill offroadable, but of course, not to the the same degrees as that of its ladder framed competitors.
In fact, its one of the few SUVs with FIS and unibody constrution to do so. Just no hardcore stuff. (which i seriously doubt anyone here would undertake with a Php2.5M car)
correct, in your selection i assume that it will purposely use as a people carrier and light trailing, tipong pang shoulder lang.
if that is the case prado na since it's design MORE on on-road.
And at this point in time, GEN II's are starting to enter the 'relatively affordable' price range.
