March 10th, 2004 08:29 PM #1What's the difference between Crush bent and Mandrel Bent pipes for the exhaust? Halos lahat ba ng muffler shops puro crush bent pipings ang ginagawa? How would one know kung crush bent or mandrel bent ang pipes na ginamit? Thanks.

Sa crush bent, the inner of the diameter of the pipe gets smaller as it bends.
Sa mandrel bent, the inner diameter of the pipe stays constant from start to end.

if it's the inner diameter that's smaller, can you tell by ocular inspection if it is indeed crush or mandrel bent?

March 11th, 2004 12:36 PM #7this is a good question about visually seeing the difference kasi sa pagkaalam ko, mas mahal ang mandrel bent compared to crush. baka sabihin lang nila na mandrel pero crush lang pala.

Yup, you can visually see it because the reduction in diameter is also obvious on the outside of the pipe.
OEM pipes are crush bent. You can see the kinks.

March 11th, 2004 10:10 PM #9That means karamihan ng muffler shops ay crush bent ang ginagawa. Saan shop gumagawa ng mandrel bent pipes? I'm planning to change the exhaust piping of my revo. Thanks.
