What's the difference between Crush bent and Mandrel Bent pipes for the exhaust? Halos lahat ba ng muffler shops puro crush bent pipings ang ginagawa? How would one know kung crush bent or mandrel bent ang pipes na ginamit? Thanks.

Sa crush bent, the inner of the diameter of the pipe gets smaller as it bends.

Sa mandrel bent, the inner diameter of the pipe stays constant from start to end.

Mandrel Bent...hindi restricted ang flow sa bent area. ;)

if it's the inner diameter that's smaller, can you tell by ocular inspection if it is indeed crush or mandrel bent?

this is a good question about visually seeing the difference kasi sa pagkaalam ko, mas mahal ang mandrel bent compared to crush. baka sabihin lang nila na mandrel pero crush lang pala.

Yup, you can visually see it because the reduction in diameter is also obvious on the outside of the pipe.

OEM pipes are crush bent. You can see the kinks.

That means karamihan ng muffler shops ay crush bent ang ginagawa. Saan shop gumagawa ng mandrel bent pipes? I'm planning to change the exhaust piping of my revo. Thanks.

quick question, would getting a full 3" exhaust still add performance kahit crush bent lang siya? medyo mahal kasi and mga quote nang mandrel bent, but maybe because stainless and ginamit

guys, revive ko lang ang thread na ito. my last inquiry was if the performance gains of a 3" exhaust on a Pajero would still be noticeable kung crush bent lang sya. medyo mahal kasi and mandrel bent. di ko ma-afford.

ang balak ko talaga would be a finer filter, the washer mod sa wastegate ng 4d56tdic and a 3" exhaust. wht do you think?

Depende sa bend....if the bend would produce a great distortion on the flow of the air-pressure comming out of the exhaust baka hindi eto magbigay ng performance gains na gusto mo.

....vernulli principle yata ang tawag doon sa physics.....the constriction caused by the bend will produce a pressure build-up so the exhaust would not really be free-flowing...if the bend is very near the pistons back magback-pressure pa ito lalo.....but I could be wrong din naman, kasi 3" should be more than big enough...

Magkano daw ba aabutin ng mandrel bent?

if i remember right, 28,000 plus ata ang mandrel bent.

at the moment, i think my stock exhaust is just crush bent, so moving from a 2 inch to a 3 inch exhaust might show some gains.

although i read in a thread on a UK site that putting a 3" exhaust on a diesel is a waste of money. agree ba kayo dyan?
