Yes, it is an equation... no argument. What I mean is that peak horsepower gives a general indication of expected performance. Of course, you're right, the powerband graph is more indicative of actual on-road performance.

RE: Type R... it's hard to find such a car because of the variance of power, displacement and weight. But given a 200 hp, 200 ft-lb car versus a 200 hp, 140 ft lb car, given the same weight, drivetrain, etcetera, the car with more torque will usually be a bit faster.

that could be true but having a type R involved makes it hardly true... In addition to weight, short gearings and VTEC own their competitors.

Bought it off a friend. They're curved stainless pieces that clamp around the filter. You can find them at almost any "ricey" accessory store in Manila.

Like I've said, it helps quite a bit, but you will still suffer heat soak in traffic.

RE: Type R - Again, it's very hard to tell. Honda's drivetrains are spectacularly efficient, and you're never sure whether or not the manufacturer is understating power. Heck, against other variable cam, high-strung cars (Mitsubishi Cyborg, Nissan Pulsar VZR), the Type R still comes out on top.
