    1. ECM - Engine Control Module
    2. TCM - Transmission Control Moule
    3. PCM - Powertrain Control Module - combination of Engine and Transmission
    4. BCM - Body Control Module
    5. EBCM - Electronic Brake control Module
    6. EBTCM - Electronic Brake And Traction Control Module
    7. SDM - Sensing and Diagnostics Modules
and so on... as of now... average of 24 modules meron ang mga GM Vehicles..
Different car manufacturers uses different designs of scan tool..
Sir, iisa lang ang DLC para sa lahat ng mga OBD-II equipped vehicles. wether if its a American, Japanese or European car from 1997-present. also, you can use one OBD-II scanner for all vehicles, like those Snap-On MODIS, Scan Check.. etc.

    aite, peace.

Yes. But different manufacturers designed their own scan tools for certain purposes...such as programming the modules, taking snapshots, etc....

    Ayos yun...

Isa pang magandang weapon is yung Fluke Multimeter...

    God Bless!

Some uses UART, meron din Class 2 Serial Data.... Meron din na combination of both... Then yung mga latest ngayon is yung LAN... For the scan tool to communicate with the modules on the vehicle which understands UART, Class 2 serial data or Lan.. They need a gateway to translate the messages... Here comes CANdi...
Once, sa training.. i asked the instructor kung bakit di na lang gawing WIRELESS yung communication between modules.... para ma-eliminate na yung wiring problem, like short to voltage, short to ground or open circuit...
He just smiled at me and said, il reply that later... Up to now, wala pang reply...
What do you think???? Mas ok kaya pag Wireless LAN???

    God Bless!
