Well, back in 1994, I was already cruising from manila to malolos, bulacan in my 92' Sentra 1.6. And there was a stretch or two I could cruise for a couple of minutes at 180kph either in 4th or 5th gear.

Point to ponder, if the Opel Astra takes soooooooooo long to reach 200kph, where in the island of Luzon can you cruise at that speed?

I think the actual euro version of the astra has the 2.0L engine and not the 1.6L engine we have here as standard.

probably? so its also possible that your car has exactly the same horsepower (or probably even less HP) as it came out of the factory? This is given you have NOT done any sort of measurement in the before & after modification of your car.

    0-100km/h: 11.6 seconds :bwahaha:

er.... my automatic toyota corolla 1.6L can do 0-100kph much quicker than that (even when factory stock)

... after a tune-up, remove stock paper air-filter (temporarily), floor the gas pedal and use the shifter's 1/2/D position all the way to redline before shifting to the next "gear".

if your sentra has the GA16DE engine (not the GA16DNE), advancing the timing by one to two degrees will get you some additional power at the cost of lower milage.

Ayos na discussion to ah Anyways, I used to drive my mom's Astra nung nasa Manila pa ako. The car is S-L-O-W,pero on the upside, mataas ang gearing niya, tsaka maganda ang ride. You can push it to 160, and it's very stable. Pero naman, san ka ba makakapagpatakbo araw-araw ng ganon sa Manila di ba?

I wish they brought the 1.8L or 2.0 L sa atin, lalo na yung may turbo. Kahit yung diesel ok rin sa akin. Btw, ang ganda ng bagong Astra ha. I've ridden in one and I must say the interiors are a big improvement from the old one. I haven't driven one though hehe

Hehe... would that I could get it to go that fast (it was completely stock, not even a filter, before the SR20 transplant), but it was an Exalta STA, fully loaded, heavy, and slooooooow. The old Super Saloon ATs were definitely lighter and faster.

What they should do is bring in the new Astra. The Turbo Hatchback looks particularly nice...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
