Our almost 3 year old Jazz 1.3L CVT is okay so far.

OT: ours also rolls backwards. It is probably because of the infinite gear ratio of the CVT tranny.

Are you serious? I always thought the CVT also had a lock mechanism to prevent it from rolling backwards. I thought that was a sign that something was wrong...

I am bro. Our way out of the office is inclined. So, I experience it everyday....

Am not sure though if my understanding explains it....

Yes, that's very true. Hay!!! No parts available, so you have to pay like more than a 2nd hand car to make your car go again.

Paopen po ulit ng topic. We have a 2017 honda city cvt bought last july 2016 it now has 70++k mileage as I travel the road often (south to north madalas - due to nature pf work). Now the issue - after namin magpagas on our way home biglang di na lang umandar ang sasakyan kahit anong shift namin yung indicator niya ang lumalabas (D/R/P) so parang nalilito siya kung ano iffollow niya ending di umandar. Next day pinatow namin papuntang casa. 2 days andun kotse and they didn’t find any error sabi baka namalik mata daw tatay ko pero hindi kasi tatlo kami nasa loob ng kotse. So eto na, di pa kami due for cvt fluid pms kasi sabi nila every 40k daw. Btw, my father is also a mechanic pero di pa siya sanay sa cvt pag nasira. Anyone here na nakakaexperience neto with their new honda cvt? Been doing a lot of research at madami nagrreklamo sa US sa cvt belt failures. Since iilan lang naman sa pinas ang madami mileage for a new car i suspect iilan lang may ganitong issue satin sa pinas.

We asked the mechanic na specialty ang cvt transmission and it is not because of driving style. This is a product defect daw - malamang hindi dapat 40k ang palit ng transmission fluid kundi 20k lang. pero dba we are just following yung manual ni honda.

if the cvt belt is the problem, as in, design or manufacturing issue, no frequency nor amount of cvt fluid change will remedy it.
its short service life will be obvious.

40Tk palit fluid is pretty normal afaik.

Hindi pa naman po approved yung pagpapalit ng transmission pero yun na ang sinabi nung dealer namin so we are just waiting for the approval ng head office or kung sino man sa higher ups. We have high hopes na maayos nila or else magiingay talaga kami. Been reading a lot of complaints ng cvt failures for honda 2017 pero sa usa yun so not sure if the same issue also applies to us (definitely hindi kasi ibang bansa).

Turned out na defect pala kaya ganun. Pero after neto we are thinking na agahan na lamg siguro palit ng fluid. Or maghahanap ibang opinion about it, kasi with the condition here sa pinas sa traffic, etc. baka naapektuhan din yun. Hehe

Oh man. And I thought that this was limited only to those Jazz and City 2004-2008(?).

And that Honda did an engineering overhaul of their CVT transmission and so they put it back again on their new models.

Hoping that it is just an isolated case....

Else, no one will trust CVT (that's me), especially from Honda.
