Even if the number is closer to 200...

200 / the number of fortuners and hiluxes sold in 2017 ~45000...

Plus the ones in 2016.

That's about or under 0.4% failure rate. Not terrible.

Just a quick update sa post ko:

1. We just received a call from the warranty supervisor ng casa and they said na humihingi pa daw ng supporting document yung honda sta. ROSa plant. The warranty sup. Even asked as kung talaga daw ba na galing sa kotse yung metal pieces (wth��)
2. We are still waiting until tuesday kung maapprove. Kung hindi we will find other means para kumalat to. Pasensyahan na lang kami pero kung di pala reliable ang cvt transmission nila might as well malaman na ng ibang owners para maging aware na sila.

Hmm. May mga metal particles ka pa ba na natabi dyan. Perhaps, a simple metallurgy analysis will prove na galing sya sa loob ng transmission.

Yes, we still have po. We also have pictures nung una pa lang showing na nasa casa pa lang ang kotse andun na yung metal pieces. I mean di na dapat nila kailangan ng metallurgy analysis. They should know na galing yung sa loob ng transmission dahil sila mismo ang nagdrain ng fluid. So frustrating na ganyan sila magpalakad. I am sure that they know the issue tinatantsya lang nila kami kung papalakihin ba namin yung issue o magbabayad na lang kami ng 350k pra palitan transmission. No way that will happen. Will be sending an email sa honda by tuesday pag walang action then probably ask media’s help then kung kaya ipa tulfo gagawin namin. Tutal nasira na name nila sa tulfo last year may nagreklamo na sknla.

because... if the product is good, there shouldn't be any!
the transmission box is one of the most abused components of the car. within reason, there is no such thing as an "over-engineered" trans box.

i suppose the current cvt is already a much-improved model.
and yes, 20/50,000 is only 0.04 %.
but as this is the descendent of the 2003, and bad rep is not an easy thing to live down...
