Hi! I dunno much about cars, in fact im just a new member and a silent reader of forums here in tsikot hoping to learn more...Well I did learn a lot of things including some of those abbreviations like AFAIK, IMHO etc..

anyway, I need some suggestions..please help me. I got a lancer 93 GLi and just noticed that the inner part of the front wheels are far more worn out...Sobrang pudpod sha pero sa outer part hindi pudpud..IS this an alignment prob? or sa steering wheel or adapter maybe? ( nagpalit kasi ako ng steering wheel, 4 - 5 months ago...Ung rear tires pala mukhang even naman ung pagkakagamit..I didnt change tires pala, stock 13....
and oh btw, Im planning to to have it repainted, any suggestions about color? I dont want it to look ricey...

Suggestions/Feedback will be appreciated..Thanks in Advance!

If it's the inner part only, then it's likely a toe or camber problem. You can have this checked at most tire and wheel shops.

To a lesser degree, it might also have to do with your tire pressures (might be too low) or sobrang lowered ang harap, whether sadya or because of worn out springs, kaya medyo cambered yung wheels.

Pero most likely, toe or camber. After so long, puwedeng mawala ang alignment ng tsikot dahil sa mga potholes at bumps.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I see..Thanks a lot..I'l do that..ANother question..when they say "suspension" does it refer to the spring?, shocks? is it a specific underchassis part or a whole system? If yes ,what are the parts involved? It might be related since someone told me before that I need to have the suspension checked. I believe he said that because the car is noisy as hell in not so smooth pavement and really knocks hard on potholes. Its like a car with no spring or shock absorbers..

Suspension refers to a whole number of parts. There are suspension arms, anti-roll bars, springs and shocks. These are all affixed or fastened to each other and the body via bushings.

If your car is noisy over bumpy roads, it could be due to problems as simple as worn bushings or rubber seats under the shocks, or as bad as loose shocks or broken/busted bushings or joints. It's better if you have a mechanic listen to it.

It's also important to get a second opinion before committing to expensive repairs, just to make sure the mechanic isn't trying to make money off of you.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Is your car stock? Is it lowered? Don't bother about the steering wheel, it doesn't affect alignment.

If yours is lowered, your front wheels may be looking like /=\ when looked at from the front. If this is the case, your tires' inner shoulders will wear more than the outside shoulders, giving your car the symptoms you describe. Another possible problem is what Niky said, masyadong naka toe out. Toe out happens pag naka-sakang yung gulong mo, meaning if you drive straight, the wheels both point outwards. You can imagine that the inner portion of the wheel could be more worn because of this, especially so if combined with a lowered vehicle.

If you have worn bushings/suspension parts, now is the time to have them replaced since ipapa-align mo rin lang. This should keep you busy...

I did have it serviced 3 or 4 months ago..I remember the shell guys replaced bushings, rack end pinion, steering boot, engine support, tie rod, ball joint, rack end, rear camshaft oil seal and the clutch thingy??(looks like a circular metal with small springs-has something to do with transmission) thats all i can read from this receipt..they also replaced a lot of small parts in the engine to stop all the leaks..I should've told them to check the alignment or replace the shocks or springs??di sana nasira ung gulong...

lets focus on one tire only (front left tire),kung ang wear ng tire ay sa center lang pero yung sides or edges ay ok pa (uneven wear, center only)ang cause nito ay overinflated lang, ang nangyari kasi dahil sa sobrang hangin,it form into baloon at sa center lang ng gulong nagconcentrate ang friction between road surface and tire, kaya adjust mo yung pressure,,,at pagunderinflate naman yung tire, ang mangyari ay ang sides ang unang mapudpud,,,,,,,,,tungkol namansa pag replace ng steering wheel, kahit gaano man kalaki o kaliit ang ipalit mong steering wheel ay hindi ito magkaproblema sa alignment as long na maganda pagkakabit, wla kang ginalaw sa ilalim (suspension and steering components aside from that steering wheel) and center na center yung pagkalagay ng steering wheel,..marami pa sana akong gusto ibigay sa iyo na tip kaya baka di mo rin iapply..

I will certainly apply whatever your suggestions are..maya lang ng konti il go down to the basement and check the shock for leakage as advised by mbeige . tires are stock 13 and pressure is 30 psi. Ung inner part lang talaga ng both front tires ang worn out..

ok,tulungan kita magdianose ng kotse mo,una hanap ka ng lugar na walang tao, pantay at smooth ang road at malaki, drive your car about 20to 25 kph and then make circle and do not apply your brake, then do it again in different direction, there should be no thug, creek or unusual noise that you hear,if there is one, pwede mo ng sabihin na may bad suspension components,,,,2nd find a humps, run about 5 to 10 or 10 to 15 kph and run over it do not apply the brake, again there should be no unusual noise and if there is one, well bad components...kung sa dalawang test na ito may narinig kang ingay, ipacheck mo na and dont do the 3rd test dahil suspension components talaga ang problema, pero kung wala kang marinig na ingay do the 3rd test,,,,drive you car about 30 to 40 kph apply the brake about in the middle pressure of your foot (not hard)until it completely stop,it should be run straight but kung magpull sya from side to side(left or right)alignment problem lang yan.....i hope it will help you.

HELP! alignment prob or what??
