It's like drinking too much water. You will soon be forced to get it out. Same with the engine pag sobra talaga like maybe 2 liters above max. The oil seals/gaskets/O-rings will have too much burden because of the increased pressure (affected by increased volume).
Drain just a bit into a good clean container and then fill up to proper level.

so the engine will be running at less than the optimum level(parang lunod)?

Yes, dahil hirap siya. Pero if your car is a diesel, and it burns oil, ok lang yan
In essence it's bad for the rubber seals that hold the oil in to generate the proper pressure to circulate, lubricate and cool your engine. Thicker weight oil can do more damage if overfilled than thinner oils.

tama si mbeige. also when oil gets hot it expands. thus the increase of pressure inside. too much oil means higher oil pressure than usual. that's when leak starts, assuming sobra nga ang oil mo...

On the contrary, if you maintain the volume of oil, when oil gets hot it thins out kaya less pressure. But when you overfill it, your volume increases and so your pressure will increase with the same temperature. See the formulas below.
While it does expand, it only expands volume wise but the density is lower dahil it gets hotter. Diba density is usually measured with a given temperature (density of water is 1gm/mL at a certain temp, for example).
Given density = mass / volume and pressure = volume x temperature
As temperature increases, pressure increases too but if you equate volume to temperature and pressure:
volume = pressure / temperature and your temperature increases, then your volume decreases as it thins out. Pressure will then have to decrease with increased temperature to retain a more or less similar volume.
So if you top off your oil, that is good. But if you overfill, your volume increases. Hence, your pressure increases as your temperature increases (dahil di naman napapalitan yung temperature directly by you).
My car has an oil pressure gauge. At idle with a cold start naka max siya at 3, and when hot I run 1.5 bar. This is the same with tons of other MBs with normal properly working engines.Last edited by mbeige; October 7th, 2006 at 01:30 PM.

tnx po sa mga replies...
kasi late na lang nung nabasa ko sa manual na 3.75 liters lang dapat...eh nabuhos ko un buong 1 gallon.

ok lang yon dahil 3.75 liter = 0.990 645 192 gallon [US, liquid]

Replaced with the Pilot Sport 5 na ata, but the available sizes aren't yet as broad as the PS4.
