The first release of the the GU Patrols were the ones with problems (01-03/04?).The 2006 4x4 at home already has 80,000kms on it and never had problems outside of its defective clutch when it was brand new (which UMC replaced).

M/T and the FC is around 8km/L in city driving. Highway hits around 11km/L-12km/L but if you drive it hard, it drops to around 10km/L. I'm dont know the consumption of the a/t but Otep can probably give feedback on that since he has two in the garage... and laging nasa garage.

In contrast, the LC80 m/t gets around 7km/L in city driving and 10km/L on the highway. Sarap i-floor lagi :D

Haha. Im getting around 7 km per liter in the rare times that i drive one. Thats city driving. =)

Worst was 5km per liter in a very bad traffic riddled week.

Matipid? Hindi, hindi po matipid. Hindi po binibili ang Super Safari dahil sa kanyang tipid o sa kanyang bilis.

hi mga sir ask ko lang yun nissan patrol started ng 1997 diba? so up to now they are producing it? so puro facelift lang? how about the engine? ano year model na ang walang problems? and yun diesel 3.0 4x4 up to now ganun pa din ba sa 2012? same engine?

Got an 07 super safari 4.8L V6 gas. I'm already thinking of selling it because of its gas consumption. Does anyone know if i can possible convert this to a diesel engine? And which shop can do it? Thanks

The y61 gu was released locally in 2001. But yes it was launched in 98.

Anything after 05 is pretty safe. The 01's were the least reliable.

Yes, the current super safari still uses the same chassis and engine. Toyota still sells the land cruiser 70 series and it was launched in 1984. So if it aint broke, dont mess with it. Hehe.

Hi guys, just purchased a 2002 patrol with 79k on the odometer from its 1st owner. any tips on what i should have done first to keep it in excellent condition? i already scheduled an 80k PMS just to get the oil and all the filters changed. Thanks in advance!

Hi Sirs,

I've got a 2001 patrol with 192K reading on the odo. I'm planning to give it a "makeover" to ensure that it can still be safely used daily. The turbo has been replaced but given that it's been used for a long time, I would want to have it checked thoroughly including the engine, shocks etc. Are you able to recommend a non casa option to have my patrol checked? Thanks in advance!

For the turbo and engine, malabon diesel is very wellworth thelong drive.

The other stuff like suspension, aircon, etc can be checked by other recommended shops here.

When i was gassing up my Altis before, I met an gasoline Patrol owner (2001 or 2002 model) who converted his gasoline Patrol to run on LPG. FC remains the same but he's happy since the fuel costs have are lower.

My cousin's ZD30 went into safe mode during a trip to Baguio recently (did not rev beyond 3,000rpm). Culprit was water contamination after gassing up in Petron, La Union.
