yah, I agree because in the other hand the term "rice" is so wide, there once's a car also called a "rice car" built by a japanese tuning community here in the Philippines, it's says " the rice car was not built for car shows" and then I guess if it is not for the car show, well it is built to kill the rice. And yes hindi nga ako nagkamali nang sumalang yung kotse na yun sa CIS, It raged and killed it's competitors on the track.
sana mahanap ko yung picture nun, simple lang yun look niya pero loaded pala.
then I suddenly remeber the post of bro. Benzimer's harnessed article from the web...
"4) A term that Americans use to describe Superior performance asian cars out of jealousy. These cars are products of Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Lexus, and Acura. Jealousy comes from the superior looks, engine, reliability, street cred, luxury in which American cars are clearly inferior to. These cars are driven by any class of people. Some of these cars may be heavily modified for looks, performance, or both."

Let me air out what is not being mentioned...
We are just curious what makes you (along with renzo, etc) one of the self-appointed rice "gurus". It's not that you have proven you are capable of modding your car with great style or taste.
Keeping your car stock just means you haven't really "gone out" and shown your style to the world at large. Modding one's car is not only about performance or style but also individuality. The result might not to be in the everyone's taste, but like fashion, there is a style that suits everyone.
So why would we (owners of modded cars) be judged by people who haven't proven anything of their own?Last edited by ghosthunter; June 24th, 2011 at 10:22 PM.

Given that the rice "gurus" have mentioned they drive stock cars, who are they to judge modded cars?
Just like cooks being judged by culinary chefs, or new talents being judged by acknowledged artists in their own fields (ala American Idol).
Its not that they are someone like Atoy or Chip Foose that they have proven they know what works and what doesn't...

Alam mo, GH. Wala akong sinasabing rice guru ako. In the first place, I don't consider myself one. Kahit magbackread ka pa. Hence, I do not have to prove anything to you or to anyone else in this community. If some people looks at me, or us, as one then the hell with it wala akong pakielam.
Am I judging you? Or any modded cars for that matter? What happened to the word " opinion "? And what are you trying to point out? For us, owners of barely-stock vehicles to shut the hell up and not state our opinions regarding other vehicles regardless of its form? Parang ganun pinapalabas mo, ser, eh.
Sana sinabi na sa una na " ang mga walang napatunayan dito ay bawal na mag-voice out ng opinion nila ".
You're a moderator, I respect you. But demanding for a picture of my car just to prove you or whoever person it may be something, eh, iba na yun.
At kailangan ba super modded ang kotse para ma-differentiate ang rice sa hindi? Ang hindi maganda for your taste sa hindi? Ehe. I don't think so.Last edited by renzo_d10; June 24th, 2011 at 10:43 PM. Reason: regarding -> regardless

Ang kulit
Di nga kami "Rice Guru".
I modify, but not too much kasi top of the line / most expensive variant na naman. Mostly OEM din yung kinakabit ko para decent looking parin.
Oy renzo, cool ka lang. Hahaha.
