To fellow tsikoteers who has problems, concerns, solutions, experience, rants, etc. regarding SCV on diesel engines, even non-Mitsu, please post them here. (Nilagay ko lang dito sa Mitsu forums kasi Strada 'yung oto ko pero no bias 'yun) Lalo nga pala 'yung mga nakapag-claim ng warranty sa casa at 'yung mga pinagbayad din, share naman diyan. Salamat!

paps,nagkaron na din ako ng problem regarding SCV. Isuzu global dmax gamit ko. Twice na ko nagpalit ng SCV ko. Nung una e ayaw i-cover ng warranty dahil daw negligence something na sinasabi nila. Nagtataka naman kasi ako bakit agad masisira un e hindi naman ako nagpapagas sa d kilalang gas station. Lagi ako nagpapagas sa petron or shell. I paid 8k+ sa casa para dun sa part na un dahil nga ayaw icover ng warranty. Then I sinubukan ko magpakagas sa ibang place, before kasi e dun lang sa malapit samin na petron ako nagpapagas. Nung sinubukan ko e ok naman, then napansin ko na tumaas ung consumption ko. I realized na there is somtething fishy dun sa gas station malapit samin so d na ko nagpagas pa uli dun at may lumabas pa sa diagnose nila na may water contamination ung gas tank ko. Same as my '08 Civic e d ko na din dun pinapagas pero buti nalang d ako nagkaproblem sa civic ko kundi ung average consumption lang. Un ang una ko napansin before nung dun pa ko nagpapagas,ang baba ng fuel consumption ko, Then nung lumipat na ko e tama na ngaun ung consumption. And then nito lang last 3 weeks e nagkaron uli ako problem sa SCV ko, d ko lam kung bakit at wala naman ako naging problem dun sa gas station na pinupuntahan ko. Nung ngclaim na ko sa casa e sabi nila papalitan na daw nila ng bago at sinabi ko na kelangan ipasok nila un sa warranty dahil la pa 1 year since nung pinalitan nila nung una e. Good thing at approve na ng warranty and sabi nila sakin e ibang part number na daw ung ipapalit nila, which means daw na ung pang ngaung modelo na ung ilalagay nila na SCV. Kung d nila pinasok uli un sa warranty e baka magreklamo na talaga ko at baka d talaga nila pinalitan nung unang nagkaproblema at baka dinaan lang sa linis kaya ganun lang e nasira nanaman samantalang tyagaan ako magpagas sa alabang instead na samin pa sa biñan para lang sure ako. Ikaw ba any probelms with your SCV???

Food for thought -- I bet the car industries in the Philippines know that our Diesel does not meet the requirement of the CRDI engine, i.e. less than 350ppm of sulfur. Naturaly, the parts(fuel system of CRDi engine) with the direct interface with the fuel with 500ppm sulfur will give-in earlier than it should be.

IMHO, the warranty should be honored, why? You can see in the case of CATS Motor as indicated in the article, the BMW535d was not released because the diesel in the country is not stable to run BMW535d's engine. -- simply put that the CRDi was introduced when our Diesel(claimed to have 500ppm of sulfur) is not yet aligned to the required Euro standard of less than 350ppm of sulfur content. A work around should have been implemented by the car manufacturers prior to the release of the CRDi.

marlowen: i just had my SCV replaced sa casa. 35K KM check up hindi nakita ng computer. after 1 day, nag act up again. had them drive the car to see what i was saying. yun, the SA said, its acting up, but not yet broken. but they will order the part (no stock at their dealership).

after a day, nag act up again, this time, nag check engine na siya. once nag check engine na, when they place the computer, doon lang makikita sira na.

it was still under warranty, so no payment was made. i hope this helps. i haven't driven my strada far after the replacement because im in another area right now, but so far oks naman strada.

2 beses ko na pinatingnan sa magkaibang casa pero laging, "Wala namang problema sir" Medyo tinitiis ko muna ngayon pero siguradong bago matapos ang taon e pipilitin kong i-claim sa warranty. Lupit mo sir, talagang dinadayo mo pa 'yung Alabang, sana umayos na 'yung problema. Pero nung nabasa ko 'yung article na pinost ni eeebay e parang nanlumo ako, hanggang hindi 'ata pinapalitan 'yung diesel dito e magkakaproblema pa din

Saan po kayo nag-claim ng warranty sir?

Nag Claim din ako ng warranty ko for SCV and EGR for free. Under warranty pa kasi.. Na experience ko naman parang kumakadyot. Pero wala sila makita sa computer, malinis naman yung EGR ko. when they replace the SCV and have some road test. Nag check engine naman.
Kaya 2 days sa casa yung strada ko. They replace na rin yung EGR sabay na. Ganda na ulit parang bago talaga!

Saan po kayo nag-claim ng warranty sir?

much better if mapapalitan mo na agad SCV mo kesa abutan ka ng matinding abala. ganyan kasi ginawa ko before e.dinaan lang sa linis kasi ayaw iclaim ng warranty at la pa ko budget that time for the parts kasi ang mahal, 8k+ ung part. Then ayun, inabutan ako ng abala ng biglaan habang nasa biyahe ako.

ok lang naman sakin ung magpagas sa alabang kasi every weekends e andun ako saka d naman ganun kalayo dito sakin un.mga 15kms lang from my house and no need na mgpagas na paunti unti kasi lapit lang din ofis ko dito sa area ko. around 40kms lang balikan na un.

un nga problem ng diesel dito satin e,d ganun kalinis. kaya kelangan lang talaga ng pagiingat. kaya ako dun talaga ko sa trusted gas station ko ako nagpapagas na d naman ako nagkakaproblem ever since.

Sabi sa casa same lang ang scv. Hindi nila talaga aaminin na may defect. Ako gusto ko na magpalitmkahit hinpi pa bumibigay. Para hindi na turbo diesel ang gagamitin ko. Regular diesel na ulit gagamitin ko. Napansin ko naguumpisa na ulit magsinok yung makina at 15k kms.....

Umilaw ung engine warning exactly on my garage before stopping the engine. Next morning I start again my MS still the engine warning still there, hindi mawala, I called my SA in casa, they decided to send a technician on my place. Mitsu tech. connect a laptop under my MS steering wheel. Started the engine then the laptop do, diagnosing engine problem. Results was dirty SCV cause daw ng dirty diesel oil. They just clean the SCV and charge me 2500 pesos for there service. Good news until now ok naman, hindi na bumalik yung engine warning.
