very possible.
here's my logic.
Gen1 has a 4d56. Gen2 has a 4d56
gen2 has a 4m40. Gen 3 has a 4m40.
Gen3 has a 4m41. By rule of transitivity, dapat pwede hehehe
Pero sigurado ako yung cost ng 4m41, malapit na sa cost ng 2nd hand Gen1.

June 10th, 2004 07:02 PM #4i think its possible.
when one compares the 4d56 and the 4m40 engine block, its almost identical. i think they use the same block...the 4m40 just has a higher displacement (and of course the intercooler).
let's wait for what the experts have to say on this.

June 14th, 2004 12:37 PM #6was daydreaming if the gen3s 3.8L V6 will fit the gen1.
i had a hyundai galloper aka pajero gen1 clone with the 3.0L V6 and it was very weak (only 150hp).

from 4D56 to 4M40, there are a lot of fabrications to make. plus, you've got to buy the entire tranny of 4m40 to fit the new engine.
from 4D56 to 4M41, pwede but you need to have a mini-machine shop on call to fabricate a lot of critical parts. it could be a good project if you have someone knowledgeable. things like tranny, transfer case, cross members, all mounts, propeller shafts, gearing ratio compatibility to max out the power of the engine, etc...

February 9th, 2005 01:24 AM #9Finding a 4M41 at a reasonable price is something to consider.
I've been itching to get get my hands on one to transplant into my Strada.
I can machine mounts and adapters with relative ease. Its getting an engine in good condition with the whole drive train intact is something next to impossible at this point in time.

i think you can find na lang the 3.5 v6 that is about the same size as the 3.0 v6. the GDI engine, or you can boost up the power of your existing engine by adding aftermarket parts.
