My friend bought a Savana White 4x2 unit last week.
Mods so far:
1. Solex spare tire lock (had to be modified by Jameson and the rest of the gang at Jorge's radiator shop to fit the Monty)
2. Bosch horns (the big black kind, install done by Ronald of G&S using existing threaded holes beside the intercooler. OEM horns are still in place but not wired up, put new wiring and relay for the Bosch, OEM wiring was not harmed or modified)
3. Full windshield tint (Sun Bloc) since the casa tint is only the visor type. Install done by Proto (Jameson's buddy)
4. Custom-made 'Doctor on Board' license plate frames (for responding to emergencies)
5. Jumper cables and air compressor in the tool cabinet at the back
6. Side mirror protectors (etching to follow)

Road tested it yesterday, best FC on the RV meter was 10.7km/L on the NLEX at 120kph. Smooth motor, lots of power on tap.

Tire pressure was 55psi from the dealer. Had it corrected to 29/32 psi and the ride softened up considerably.

Btw, I need a cargo tray for the back (behind the third row). The molded, rubbery kind. Where can I get one and how much do I expect to pay for it?

This will just be a boring daily driver so mods are limited to practical stuff.

this is a warning to those who are looking to get a new montero unit --

don't ever make the mistake of even considering to get one from diamond motor - marcos highway branch.

The quality of their service sucks! They simply don't care about meeting any of their commitments to their customers.

Just want to share my unfortunate experience today. I had my Monty undercoated at Petron near Pavilion Mall Binan. I went there kasi nga 3M ang gamit nila. I just went to the mall saglit to have lunch and VIOLA!!!! Eto ang nakakagimbal na dinatnan ko.


Apparently, inatras nung service crew yung Monty to place it in another area after the undercoating process, not seeing an elf truck parked sa likod. Sa galit ko, parang nawala lahat ng kinain ko!
Will be going to the casa tom to have the damage estimated for repair.
Wala pa nga kaming license plate kaya super ingat namin tapos sisirain ng iba . ANAK NG !#*X&! HUHUHU

Talgang kahit gaano tayo kaingat, may mga wayward pips na hindi marunong magappreciate ng safety.. tsk tsk tsk...
