^ dude, you cannot imagine how much justification i needed for myself to get that head unit. hehehe and i didn't want to take out the display.. but had to make a choice. and the head unit was sold to me very very cheap since it was my brother's from another car that he sold.. sayang din, since the unit is less than a month old when he sold the car.

Pls share that website of the monteros. i'm very interested to see. para i can get more ideas also. what i'm most excited about is for my exhaust and lowering. Other than that, i probably won't do anything major. So please, i'm sure its not going to be as impressive as some we'll see in the future. So to the guys who think i have something to show, i don't.. hehehe

by the way.. if anybody is curious.. i had my sounds set up by kai audioworks. Its a very very simple set up.. as simple as you can go.. except for the headunit. According to kai, my montero was the 'virgin' of the group to install the sounds and now to take off the display replacing it with the touch screen. But since my first sound set up, they told me there were 4 or 5 others who had theirs set up.. Share your set ups, if you belong to this forum also please!

^Yeah that's what i wanted at first.. but the it doesn't fit.. i can't remember eactly the reason right now why it didn't fit. I can't remember if its because the display and the console is one whole piece and you'd have to destroy the whole assembly to try to fit it in... or that the display is too wide for the headunit slot. Though i had the touchscreen installed just a few days ago, we were suppose to put it in when my car came out but at the last minute i hesitated. So we already knew all the do's and don'ts.. and right now i really can't remember why we could.. but definitely it was because of the size.

sa mitsu dito sa sflu ako nagpa change oil. Ok lang daw at preferred nga nila na synthetic ang ilagay ko so no problem sa motul. Medyo me patong nga lang sila sa oil filter - yung free sa labor hinabol sa oil filter.

sure! pagnapadpad kami ng baguio probably between xmas and new year. wala ako sa Pinas right now pero uwi ako for xmas and new year.

parang yung buttons sa baba ng multi-display ang di magkakasya. I also planned to do the same mod, pero I wanted to see someone do it first.

Got my MS GLS for P1.469 all in (comprehensive insurance, 3yr. LTO registration, & 3M tint plus some freebies). The TPMS is not standard equipment for the GLS; the reverse sensors are.

For those who was asking me about the display fitting into the stock head unit area.. i checked the display again. it will definitely not fit because even if the display looks like the display is separate from the console/slot under it, it actually is not, when you take off the display, its one whole piece. So technically its still a double din. Hence it needs to occupy the same size as double din head units.

as for the tire pressure monitor, i'm sure its more expensive at the dealers. So everybody head over to winterpine to get them.. since they are the ones who supply mitsubishi anyways. So why not go to the source. But from what i hear, they use the same TPMs with the pajero, and it breaks after a while, and doesn't last very long. Anybody can back that up? that's just what i heard.

I totally agree with you paniero. I just finished my install in mine and i had a Jensen LCD unit which i had in my previous ride. It was great but the stock location is not single DIN friendly as far as LCD popouts are concerned. Its a good thing though that a friend of mine auditioned my audio and he liked the SQ so he wanted to buy the Headunit so i sold it at a rock bottom price.

Also, I just realized that the position of the stock unit is not "eye" friendly as our compatriot here mentions.

I will just have to stick it out with the stock unit in the meantime besides it doesn't sound that bad. I am holding off on purchasing a head unit as there might be good ones coming out next year. All in all though the install was done. Nothing thumpy but the SQ is excellent.

I am planning to upgrade my subs from the current JL 8W3v3s to 10W6v2s, having said this, should any of you want some hard hitting accurate bass without having to put holes in your monty, let me know. I am in no rush to sell them yet as I am enjoying the SQ for now. But I am definitely on that path.

Oh yeah and if I decide to let the 8's go the box is included...its plug and play for you monty lovers. It sits at the rear left and right corners of the back space. I will try to post some pics next week.

Merry Xmas to all you Monty owners!

    Hello again fellow montusiasts....

Naisip ko rin yung set up na yan but unfortunately the Read Out is 1.5 DIN. The stock radio location is 1DIN, fortunately the location where the LCD readout is..is a 2DIN face/bracket so this allows flexibility...kaso sacrifice nga lang yung LCD na read out.

I have seen a 2DIN LCD readout na touchscreen courtesy of a Triton/Strada owner. He told me that the first 12 Montys had teh 2DIN readout. Pogi yung LCD readout na 2DIN its touchscreen and color. To some extent i agree with NTYCE's opinion that it doesnt seem 100% useful. So you can judge yourselves as to having it still there or replacing it with a 2DIN LCD radio.

Personally I like the consumption readout and the "mileage left" in the LCD it is helpful for me as it tells me if I'm too hungry on the pedal

I did a bad thing to my monty....i went ballistic sa skyway i didnt notice i did 180kmh already on my speedo because of the sounds....nalibang baga...napansin ko nalang sa read out na average speed ko 140kmh pag tingin ko sa speedo 180 na pala...i know its bad pero its also testament to the capabilities of the 4M41. I heard that there is a PnP na chip for the 4M41 engine that would bump the HP to 185bhp. I guess it will manage the turbo more efficiently... but its one of those candies you can buy for your hungry monty

    Merry Xmas ulit!

Comprehensive Insurance in house ( sa kanila) - Paramount. Got my unit from AMCAR (Sta. Rosa Laguna).......got it cash, but the discounts they give, do not matter wether you get the vehicles on cash or installment mode. In fact, they prefer that clients get their units on installment rather than cash.
