The blue MS really stands out from the rest of the colors. That and the green are one of the rarest I see but they look totally different compared to the ordinary silver, black or white. I guess rarity contributes to the appeal of the car heh. Nice clean look on that montero sir.

Mine is a Silver Monty. Nagpakabit ako ng rear spoiler sa Goldrich
Banawe. Napansin ko na hindi masyado nakuha ang orig na kulay ng
spoiler na naikabit if you look closely. Any feedback from other owners of Silver Monty who purchased their rear spoiler from Goldrich?

Hi sirtj, is there a way to apply the silicon without it being seen? or is it oem-like to show it (like the corners in a glass aquarium)? that's the advantage of double-sided tape, invisible but not strong enough. did you still use screws to keep the spoiler in place? my installer is suggesting we drill 2 holes for screws.

we installed the read side skirts and mudguards, used silicon paste but is can still be seen even on a silver finish. (to those who have installed these before, did you still use the rubber strip moldings that was supplied in the kit? (parang madaling matuklap).

got my spoiler painted from the shop pero di ko pina-install sa store when I noticed the color match was not exact. so pinaulit ko sa SPeed7, however, there is really a slight color difference dahil plastic yung spoiler (and also the tail gate cladding) and metal naman yung body. Ganun daw talaga sabi ng pintor.

this is more noticeable daw sa silver and lighter colored paintjob, but not so much sa blue, black, etc.

anyone has a comment on this?

thanks also toots_s. youre right though, its scary doing diy especially when you have to drill holes or permanently change something on your car. i guess you just really have to do your homework and know what you want before anything else to make sure youre doing things right

RevD, i actually dont know how OEM is installed. im guessing its basically the same way coz when the casa installed my tailgate garnish (which i got OC about and did on my own) they were gonna put silicone on the edges aside from the double sided tape. and yup i still use screws on the spoiler. that really is the main thing holding the spoiler in place. i think the main purpose of the silicone is to waterproof the install while the double sided tape acts like a gasket.

now if theres a way to put silicone without it being seen? unless you put it in the inner lining of the double sided tape, i dont think so. coz the double sided tape is already near the edge of the spoiler contact surface.

hmmm... maybe if they primed the surface before painting there wouldnt be a difference in color. color on a metal body is put on top of primer so if they primed a plastic surface, the final color will sit on basically the same surface. the primer. not so sure but they might just be making excuses for not being able to get the color right or at the least cutting corners and not using primer or not using enough coats of the paint.

its really hard finding a good paint shop... been asking around for referrals and i wasnt getting any so im guessing there arent any good paint shops worth referring. i guess ill just have to DIY my paint jobs as well :p

it took 4 days to paint the front chin, rear bumper and tailgate cladding of my ride, excluding the waiting on weather time. mabuti nalang the paint shop owner is very OC and keeps on repeating until his painter got the color right. sample pic below, but with my low tech cam the pic won't do justice.
