January 20th, 2013 11:56 AM #723Sir rmsoriano,
Try Central Diesel Clinic along Quezon Avenue beside Capitol Medical Center. I am pretty sure the can do that as long as it is diesel. I just had the EGR of my Dmax cleaned there coz the CEL/MIL lit up and it has been more than a yr and the truck has traveled more than 30k kms and for some reason, Isuzu Commonwealth couldn't get to stock an EGR. Their (Isuzu) quote was 19k+ without labor. Since I read good reviews on CDC, I gave them a call and I was like, "why did I just find you know?" They did a scan which cost 1,200 to make sure that it was really the EGR that needs to be fixed and the cleaning cost me 4k pesos. All in all, 5,200. Now the truck runs much smoother, quieter and very responsive and it didn't the cost didn't even break the bank.
Try to give them a call.

January 20th, 2013 02:09 PM #7241200 for a scan is ok. Much better if cheaper. But 4000 for an EGR cleaning? Thats is too much.
Mitsu Casa charged me for 800+ 2 years ago when the cars was still under warranty.
I planned to clean it myself pero i find it difficult to remove the bolts. My wrench is only 5 inches long and matigas pa yung nuts.
Use instead an hydraulic wrench to loosen it. Or tubo para mas madali.

January 20th, 2013 03:44 PM #725If I only have the proper tools, I would have done it myself too, but I don't know the know-how of EGR cleaning. Even the scan for 1,200, I find it expensive as well especially when I saw the process. But at least that price is better than Isuzu's advise of replacing the whole EGR right away for 19k+. They didn't even offer to clean it or I don't think they do EGR cleaning at all

January 20th, 2013 04:52 PM #727thank you sir, medyo pricey nga yung 4000 pesos for the cleaning, wala pa naman problem si monti, gusto ko lang palinis EGR.. btw, sa mitsubishi casa is 3,200 pesos ang charge nila for the cleaning. correct din kayo, kung may complete set lang ng tools ay kayang I-diy ang cleaning.... thanks sa reply...

In a BYD FB Group, they kept saying na "Toyota Reliability" is a myth sa dami ng local recall nila....
