Otep, Hi! just registered, I tried your suggestion of pulling the strap to fold up the rear seat (not third row), but what happened was just a sliding action not pulling up... Just got my Gen 2 Pajero recently and so far i am enjoying it...

Otep, another thing, I am planning to change the gear shift knob, with another one (replacement), but the problem is, they are short unlike the long original one... Do know where I can findit ? And also one door lock handle ( the small one used for locking) needs replacing.... Btw, although I am in Cebu, I regularly come over to Manila.... Hope u can suggest a Auto Store for this, either in Manila or in Cebu? Or Marwen, I think he is from Cebu... He may also help me find for some Auto Accessories specifically for Mitsubishi Pajero...
Hello sir gregg_g! Welcome to Tsikot.com.
Before pulling on the gray pullstrap located behind the 2nd row seat bottom, please make sure that you have pulled up the lock latches located at near the headrests and have folded the seat back fully forward. This is described in the owner's manual. I think Marwen has a copy of the manual.
Yes, the shift knob is different from the usual shift knobs on the market today. Why do you need a replacement? If the shiftknob is worn, you can have it re-upholstered in leather at most upholstery shops for around Php 500.00.
If you want to have a knob of a different design, you have to have one custom made. This is usually done using wood as the material and then having it covered. The only problem is finding a craftsman to do the work.

kahit hindi para sa akin, useful din yang info regarding folding the seats forward. thanks
andy
Otep, thanks, actually I have also the manual, but seemed having problems folding it up... anyway thanks, probably I can invite Marwen, to help me on this... Regarding the shift knob, I think I will go with your 1st suggestion, have it upholstered in leather in leather seat shops, I think I can find one here in Cebu.... . Btw, just a comment on this forum, I noticed that at the left side of the post, status still is offline, even when I am online... probably you can check this out... thanks...
waaahh..
reading this thread makes me miss our pajero...
ang tagal naman kasing ayusin eh!

pagdating sa pajero...
gregg_g, there might be something wrong with your 2nd row seat linkages.
I really don't know how to work those linkages and cables. I have not broken any since our first Pajero in 1992...
But sometimes I do have to slam the seats hard to get them to lock into place.

gregg_g, these cables look like bicycle brake cables.
The ends probably just got disconnected. Mine was fixed when i had my 2nd row seats reupholstered.
Oks lang ba yong Pajero GEN 2 na 2.5L yong engine? Malakas ba hatak nito? I am thinking kasi of buying this kind of model. Or..worth ba to pay more for the 2.8L engine? By the way, what's the current price for both model right now? Thanks for the help....
The 2.5l makes only 99 horsepower so better test drive one for yourself.
For me the power is enough. It's a tad slow but it does the job. And I'm even running 33" tires on my rig.

Thanks, sir otep...
I see, di ba sya bigat na bigat doon sa katawan nya? Yong car ko kasi Adventure 4D56 yong machine, pansin ko hirap sya mag arangkada, pag nag overtake feeling ko parang akong kakapusin lagi... malaki ba difference ng power between the 4d56 turbo to a non-turbo 4d56? thanks uli...
malaki ang difference between a non-turbo and a turbo engine.
i have the gen 2 pajero and am completely satisfied with the combination of fuel efficiency and power and acquisition cost.
i drove an L200 the other day and ang layo ng difference ng 4d56 and 4d56 tdic.
you can get a gen 2 pajero starting at around 580,000 to 780,000 depending on condition of vehicle, year, mileage, and accessories. these are from 1995 model to 1998 model.
ang gen 2.5 pajero naman is a lot more expensive. yo can get it for about 940,000 and above, depending on the same factors.
malaki talaga ang jump from gen 2 to gen 2.5, but if you can afford it, go for the gen 2.5 da lang. if not, go for a late model gen 2.
