For our 1994 Galant VR m/t, we just have the service done at our suking mekaniko. When i had the TB and stuff cleaned, it was done by Speedyfix.

Been with us since brand new and runs well (140,000kms); 7-8km/L in the city then 12km/L in the highway and can still hit 210kph with no drama.

tulong naman sa mga may 98-03 galant SS... totoo ba na di pwede adjust ang rocker arms pag nagpatune up? kasi dinala ng gf ko ung oto nya sa talyer and ang sabi e di daw adjustable ang rocker arms. The reason why is nagpalit kasi sya ng langis after nya nabili ung car a month ago from reg motor oil to synthetic oil then suddenly nagkaroon ng ingay ung makina na parang kelangan ipatune up at adjust ung lifters... pero sabi sa kanya is di daw un adjustable. I cant help her kasi nandito ako sa states. All inputs are greatly appreciated. BTW ang pinapapalitan sa kanya is spark plug o ring, high tension wire valve cover at gasket... pero nung pinapalitan ko ung spark plug nya e wala namang langis o di basa ung spark plug... ngayon lang ako nakarinig kasi ng spark plug o ring e...

Problem: 8gen SS galant tiktik sound

mga boss nung nagpalit ako ng motul na fully synthetic oil napansin ko meron na parang tik tik tik sound coming from the engine. sabi mechanic tappets daw yun. ano magandang solusyon po dito? self adjusting ba 4g63 sohc or pwede talaga i-adjust manually? help naman po mga gurus.

The Culprit: motul fully synthetic oil

++++mga sirs the culprit was the motul fully synthetic oil na pinalagay ko several weeks ago nung nagpachange oil ako. from mobi1 fully synthetic i tried motul naman pero nung linagay yun napansin ko agad parang hindi maganda rev ng auto ko. basag ang tunog at maingay, after several days lumabas na yung tik titk tik sound ng tappets. everyday lalong lumalakas at tumatagal, kasi nung 1st pag uminit na makina nawawala na pero habang tumatagal nga lalo lumakas yung tappets ticking sound. sabi mga mekaniko dapat sa casa nalang kasi ang solusyon nila palitan ko buong hydraulic lifters ko. sinubukan ko nalang na magpatune up at change oil ulit from motul to castrol magnatec mineral oil tas sabay reset ng ecu. first start medyo meron pang ticking sound pero nung nagtagal nawala na at until now wala na talaga yung ingay ng tappets. pansin ko din pino na ulit makina at rev ko and mas lumakas hatak at tumipid pa ng onti sa gas kesa nung naka motul ako. sad experience para sakin yang motul oil na yan. siguro hindi talaga siya compatible sa 4g63 sohc. shinare ko lang mga boss!

sir may "tick" sound ba pag pinindot mo yung switch? kung meron, stucked-up yung bintana mismo sir. langisan lang yung goma sa gilid ng salamin.

In our case, it seems to be better off as a weekend car. FC is bearable with our m/t V6 as long as it doesnt get stuck in crazy traffic but not great either and the suspension loves eating ball joints. My brother uses his 1994 Galant on weekends/coding days now and the car runs much better (less kalampag) as compared to his driving it everyday before.

It was sold from 1994 to 1997/98 and it came with the 2.0 Supersaloon (a/t and m/t) and 2.0 VR V6 (a/t and m/t... the a/t version came out after 1995). There were some limited edition models towards the end of the life cycle (leather seats, mesh rims).

Mga sir, patulong naman po.. sobra n po talaga sakit ng ulo ko.. mdyo madami po kasing nangyari sa galant ko.. BTW, A/T 92MPI SS po yung sa akin..

Eto po yung story.

Nung una, dinala ko po sya sa shop na malapit dito sa amin, kasi ngbabago-bago yung idling.. from 800rpm nagiging 450-500rpm kapag nilalagay ko sa Drive, with A/C on. Tapos bigla nalang namamatay yung engine.(Kahit deretso yung takbo ko) Then they have suggested the following:

1. Tune-up
2. Palit spark-plugs and hi-tension
3. Change oil
4. Palit Engine and tranny support (Kasi daw malakas daw ung lagabog pag nilalagay sa Drive or Reverse)

So after this, kinuha ko na yung car since sabi nila ok na daw. Which is wrong on my side kasi sobra ako nagtiwala sa kanila. Result, halos walang nagbago. Then binalik ko sa kanila the day after kong makuha kasi ganun pa din yung problema. Eto naman dw yung ginawa nila:

1. Nilinis ung throttle valve (im not sure kung yun ung tawag)
2. Nilinis yung air filter
3. Nilinis ung servo
4. Nilinis nila yung mga parts na hindi ko po sure yung mga tawag (basta eto po yung mga nakakabit malapit sa ECI na box)
5. Palit ATF
6. Sinabay na din nila yung mga bushings, axel boots, basta yung mga pangsuspension.

Okei, na daw. Dahil halos 3weeks yung sasakyan sa kanila, akala ko po naman okei na talaga. Tinestdrive namin, halos ganun pa din yung problem. Namamatay pa din tapos nagbabago pa din yung idling. Dahil sa inis ko, kinuha ko nalang yung sasakyan. Kasi ayoko naman makipagtalo pa sa kanila. Result, ngbayad ako ng halos 14K para sa walang nangyaring sasakyan.

After all of this, another problems came out. Eto na po yung mga problema ngayon:
1. Nagshishift na yung sasakyan from 1st-2nd gear pag 4000rpm na. Tapos biglang lalagabog yung halos buong laman ng makina sa lakas ng impact.
2. Merong mga instances na from 2000rpm biglang bababa yung idling ng 1200rpm kahit nakaapak ako sa accelerator. Tapos mahihirapan na ulit kumagat yung accelerator parang umaapak tapos walang nangyayari.
3. May ilaw na din yung "check engine".
4. Unang start, pag pinatakbo na, tatakbo ng 100meters (BTW dito na po simulang lalabas yung "check engine) tapos mamatay na yung engine. Yung second start medyo okei na. Lumalabas lang yung Problems 1-3.
5. Meron ding mga times na kakadyot ng kakadyot dahil hindi sya nakakapagshift.

Hayyy.. hindi ko na alam yung gagawin.

Pasensya na guys medyo mahaba po ahh. I just wanana share my story kasi feeling ko hindi na titino yung sasakyan. And i really want this car to be in his very mint condition. Coz i really love the car.

Tanong ko lang po sana kung san ko po sisimulang idiagnose yung sasakyan. Back to zero nanaman ba ako? Please help me. I really need that. Thank in advance po.

Its been a year na di ako nakakauwi ng Pinas. Maybe this coming december 2010, it will be come true..

Favor naman, can you suggest a good shop and mechanics about my car MItsubishi Galant 92 GTI 2.0 model (4G6) for maintenance and services, kasi almost a year kong hindi nagamit (January), always ang lagi kong encounter na sira ay yung break ko, stock-up lahat, pero lagi try kong palinis pero as in laging nag-iinit lalo na yung sa rear side, tapos laging ubos ang break pad, once yung handbreak ayaw mag release so it make sound scratching.. And aslo the clutch sometimes i have to replace the rubber kits sa engine side.. Steering fluid may konting leak.. Engine tune-up. And last are my axle bearing front should be to replace, kasi pag nagturn right or left ako meron nang sound..Bearing as usual.. Help me naman kung saan puwede kong pagawang shop and also availability nung mga parts. Location namin ay dito sa Pila laguna.. Thanks in advance...

im new here.. im glad to knw this cite.. tnxs for the questions and advices from d members.. its really helpful to us who own a galant.. i heb a galant mpi (gti look), '92 model, m/t. ryt nw shes under going repaint. change color frm silver to white. we've been together for 10 years nw. kaya magkasama kami to ups and downs.. lots of experience na rin, kya ako na lng minsan ang gumagawa pag nasisira ang ktse ko and nagtuturo sa mekaniko kung ano dapt nyang gawin sa kotse pag wala akong time gawin ang sira..
