Hi guys. I own a 1997 Mitsubishi Lancer GLXi, all stock. I love driving this car but I'm having some issues with it. I hope you guys can give your insights on the following matters:

1. Saan may available na weather strip for this car? Luma na kasi yung weather strip at kailangan nang palitan.

2. Kapag sinasarado yung pintuan maingay na at malakas kahit na konting kabig lang. Hinsi na suwabe tulad ng dati.

3. Kapag malakas ang ulan tumutulo sa ibabaw ng driver seat at passenger seat. Any fix for this?

4. Taas-baba yung rpm kahit naka idle lang.

5. Dati malakas at sobrang lamig ng AC. Ngayon di na masyado kahit na nagpalit ako ng bagong compressor at condenser.

6. May ingay na nanggagaling sa ialaim ng sasakyan. Kahit nakasarado yung mga windows rinig sa loob ang ilaw. Hindi naman siya galing exhaust tail at muffler kasi iba at distinct yung tunog eh. Ano kaya possible cause nung ingay?

7. Kapag naka idle at nakabukas ang AC ay sobrang nanginginig ang makina. Kapag off naman ang AC walang nginig kahit naka idle. Sa engine support kaya to guys?

I hope you can help me with these issues. I really love this car and I want to fis this issues para maalagaan ang pizza pie ko and keep it in top shape. It's the least I can do to my car which has given me many happy moments driving it. Thanks guys.[/QUOTE]



i suddenly remember my first car.. an ex-taxi of a ford escort..
but my car didn't leak from the roof..

1. weather strip for a car this old.. you might try casa, if they still have.. it won't be cheap.. or you can try the cathay centers in evangelista or banawe.
2. door hinge. bisagra. that can be replaced. center pin or entire hinge assembly. cathay centers.
3. butas ba ang roof? welding mo! weather strip? replace! windshield rubber? replace!
4. servo. maraming experto diyan dito sa threads..
5. may leak ang freon siguro.
6. a. suspension wear and tear. replacement.
b. rusted body. welding job.
c. exhaust system / tubes need suspension fix. welding or rubber doughnut.
7. servo (#4) and/or engine support. inspect and replace.

be warned, the budget requirement might be considerable. but everything can be fixed, at a price.

some owners, faced with a similar problem, but did not have the patience and the time, would have opted to sell it and get another vehicle that would not need that amount of fixin'..

1. Sa door lock, maaring yung door lock actuator ang problema mo. Ganyan din naging problema ko kasi. Mura lang po yun, nasa Php 200-250 lang ata sa Evangelista, nalimutan ko exact price hehe (kay Toyosco ako bumili).

2. Sa power window naman, mine I just got it fixed last week. Bumili ako ng surplus na motor, 1,200-1,400 presyo sa Evangelista din (Mar and Mel ata name nung shop).

Hi guys. My old car was a lancer pizza EL and replaced it with a lancer pizza glxi automatic due to traffic. My question is, in the EL model that has manual steering, i can feel the wheels through the steering wheel. But in the glxi that has power steering, the steering wheel is numb. Is that normal? Or is it because of the power steering that makes the steering numb. I always find the EL model more responsive than the glxi model. A bit heavy but i can feel through the steering what the wheels are doing.

Fuel consumption in edsa rush hour is 6-7kpl highway is 11-12kpl (long drive to provinces) mixed is currently at 9.2kpl. Aircon is always on. Im using an app to measure consumption every fuel fillup

yespo.. the shift shock is "noticeable" in a car that old. but you should see some less-than-ideal 90s honda ATs.. parakang sinipa ng kabayo..
they say the newer ATs have very very little shift shock..
and the cvt has none at all (that, i believe. i used to have one).

hi I bought a second hard Mitsubishi lancer Pizza last week and I admit I have no idea of most parts of this vehicle. Sorry guys but to tell you, I am a beginner in driving thats is why I dont know how to operate this vehicle. The key ignition had been lock and I dont know how to unlock and start engine. anyone could help me with this concern?Have you guys any drivers manual of Mitsubishi lancer 1997 pizza pie? I love this car that is why I want to study all about this car to operate, maintenance and improvement.

Sir/Mam, I had the same experience with you because I wasn't thought during my driving lessons at socialite hehe..
Just insert the key, then slowly rotate the steering wheel simultaneously with the key also and you will hear an unlock sound then you can start the engine right away.

Good day mga sir, my uncle has a 97 pizza lancer. I was wondering san kaya pwede makahanap ng fog light cover? Scoured banawe and evangelista already pero wala mahanap. May binibigay sakin buong bumper kasama covers. Kaso mahal naman masyado. Any suggestions? May nag-fabricate ba ng ganun? Ty.
