IIRC, this is because it's important to flush out whatever particles are in the oil after breaking in the engine. Sum'n like that haha

i'd have second and third thoughts in going against what the car manual says.
errr... i don't have a montero owner's manual. what does the manual say? 1K, 5K, 10K, etc?

IIRC, ganyan din ang Toyota owner's manual. Wala ring sinasabi kung kelangan pa oil change sa 1000 kms.

BPI-MS din previous insurance ko which was also free 1st yr. Tinuloy ko even after the loan kasi mababa lang Annual and i can even pay monthly mataas lang participation nya so extra ingat lang. Also hassle free claims - 6th yr claim casa pa rin approved sorry off topic na.

This would depend on the vehicle model, not all vehicles require change oil and filter at 1st 1T kms. You need to check the manual ... Mirage does not require change oil ...

So for Mirage, is it explicitly stated in the manual that no oil change is needed at 1000km?

The absence of any statement, if that is the case, IMO, breeds confusion.

Like I pointed out, at least in the case of Toyota (Innova) owner's manual, I cannot recall the owner's manual saying anything about first oil change at 1000km, and yet, when you bring it to casa for 1000 km PMS, casa will perform an oil change. Go figure.

Me & my wife had our vehicles undergo their first 1tkm pms last week. Toyota changed her oil for her diesel Innova, while Mazda didn't change mine w/ my Mazda 3. Maybe for diesel, they would change, but for gas, no need?

Drove my monty on the expressway for the 1st time. Baguio to manila then back...

As for the fc, i got 13 kpl on the expressway (mga 110-120kph) ang takbo. 11 kpl on the uphill part (ave speed 50kph).

NVH insulation was very good. (Esp. Compared to my old 96 accord). Medyo bouncy nga lang yung ride sa highway, but its probably bec i didn't have passengers.

It was a pleasure to overtake, malakas humatak from 90-120 kph on the expressway, malakas din sa steep parts ng marcos highway, madali mag overtake ng slow moving trucks.
May konting hesitation nga lang. Turbo lag siguro yun.

Overall very satisfied with the long drive. ☺☺☺

Yes that's normal. Akala ko rin nung una may sira, pero inobserve ko sa ibang kotse ko ganun din pala. Haha

While cruising at 50 kph speed on the way to Bacoor area may tumonog na sound na parang alarm twice interval of 5 seconds. Nothing is indicated Sa information display. What could cause such alarm? Just got my Monty August 20, 2016 and the present odo readings 176. Thanks Sa mga sasagot.

Is your head unit's navigation turned on? It could be the warning beep that you are over the speed limit on that particular stretch of road.

Good evening fellow members!

New to the forum and new GLS premium 2016 owner coming from a 2010 GLS.

Any mods out there to fix the glossy "center" console area? I noticed I'm accumulating lots of scratches already and even with almost daily punas, dust and stuff get into it making it dirty. Has anyone figured out a solution to this?

Also, coming from an 2010 Montero, i've noticed when i step on accelerate there's a slight rough vibration that I don't think I've had with my older Montero.
