hi sir harold13. Montero's optitron (gauge appearence), lights are off even naka start na yun engine, unlike other cars na kapag nag-on, illuminated na agad yun gauge mo. On montero's case nagagawan na ng paraan para well-lit na agad yun gauge, which normally done by the master himself, sir zixx. (correct me if im wrong sir zixx)

CAUTION: Vehicle is equipped with Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).
When servicing vehicle, use care to avoid accidental air bag
deployment. SRS-related components are located in steering
column, center console, instrument panel and lower panel on
instrument panel. DO NOT use electrical test equipment on
these circuits. If necessary, deactivate SRS before servicing
components. See AIR BAG SERVICING article in APPLICATIONS &
IDENTIFICATION.
DESCRIPTION
Automatic transmission is a 4-speed electronically controlled
transmission. Solenoids that control shift changes are located in
valve body. Solenoids are controlled by a Transmission Control Module
(TCM). TCM receives information from various input devices and uses
this information to control shift solenoids for transmission shifting
and lock-up solenoid for torque converter lock-up.
An Overdrive (OD) switch is mounted on the shift lever. When
OD switch is depressed to ON position, transmission will shift into
4th gear when shift lever is in "D" position, and OD OFF light on
instrument panel will go off. When OD switch is released to OFF
position, transmission will shift into 3rd gear, and OD OFF light on
instrument panel will illuminate.
A pattern select switch is located near shift lever on center
console. Pattern select switch contains a NORMAL and a HOLD operating
position. When pattern select switch is depressed (HOLD position) with
shift lever in Drive position, transmission starts in 2nd gear.
Upshifts and downshifts will occur at a higher vehicle speed than with
switch in NORMAL position. See MITSUBISHI R4AW3 & V4AW3 OVERHAUL
article. Indicator light on instrument panel indicates pattern select
switch is in HOLD position.
Transmission is equipped with a shift lock and key interlock
system. Shift lock system prevents shift lever from being moved from
Park unless brake pedal is depressed. Key interlock system prevents
ignition key from being moved from ACC to LOCK position on ignition
switch unless shift lever is in Park. See MITSUBISHI SHIFT LOCK

Mga sir magandang gabi itatanong ko po sana kase nagpplano po akong bumili ng sasakyan by April 2015 ang choice ko lang po talaga is either Toyota Fortuner or Mitsubishi Montero Sport. I never drive po kasi para sa mag-ina ko na gagamitin nila pag hatid at sundo sa school and gusto ko lang po itanong kasi i have no time to back read as i have working offshore pwede po ba kung may makakatulong sa akin na anu po ang Pros and Cons to between the two and last question is lagi ko kasing naririnig sa mother ko na pag automatic daw e mahirap kapag nasira or pangit daw ang automatic but i prefer po kasi AT sana kasi wife ko mag ddrive and newbie palang sya mag ddrive in case makabili na kami baka kukuha ako driver for 1 year para matuto sya at mahasa mag maneho... I hope anyone can help me here.. or i can talk thru email kung pupwede sana.. masyado limited po kasi ang connection ko dito...

Kung wife mo at new driver, AT para madalian sya. Considered Fortuner din, main reason napunta sa Montero yung sa visibility sa pag drive sa fortuner hirap ako kasi parang mababa seat maski adjust ko pa seat ng pataas hood nakiikita ko hirap itantya sa montero mas madali pati yung engine ng montero mas malakas. Resale value mas maganda fortuner pero ok naman din si montero.

Sir try mo disinfectant spray "laysol" o "solbac" with bacteria, viruses, molds and mildew killer. Set blower to max. spray dash board suction port yong may fixed louver upper portion ng cold air discharge port on the far left and right. Yong sa likuran espray sa RH side na louver at sa RH side ng 3rd row sets yong lagayan above the ashtray holder o bottle holder, may opening yan. Next time let the blower ran for a few minutes after switching off the a/c compressor, the purpose is to remove any condensation on evaporator coils.

have this problem as well before and after basa basa, one of the suspected culprit is your car freshener, ayun tinanggal ko and the result is positive....wala na yung unpleasant smell.

btw i have a cabin filter before magkaron ng smell

i am no expert on subject and have no actual experience with Fortuner, i just relied reading the MS and Fortuner forums....after months of reading (jan 2014 kasi ako nag start mag plan to buy and i got the unit June 2014) i decided to go with MS GLX A/T, kasi MS ang angat sa net forumers. Medyo parang ang dyahe lang ngayun panay Montero na ang nasa daan When i am on the planning stage almost even pa ang nakikita ko sa daan, i have a game with my Son while driving, bilang sya ng Fortuner ako naman Montero and slightly lamang ang fortuner. Pero ngayun IMHO highly infested na ng MS ang daan and parking places, maybe 2 0r 3 is to 1 na. Again have no actual driving experience with Fortuner so my observation might be one sided so i don't know if it will aid you some help. It is my 6th car na ata, though first diesel and first a/t car....and i love it...
