Hi to All. I've been reading Montero threads and it is very informative. The Gurus are endlessly sharing their ideas and always willing to help Monty owners.

Hi Sir Zix, I will be Montero owner soon. I am considering the ff mods:
    • A/C Cabin Filter
    • EGR Blanking
    • OCC
    • Optitron Gauge

Appreciate if you can PM me on this. Thanks.

Mas malaki din ang Montero kesa sa Tucson or Sportage and parts are also more expensive... presyo ng goma pa lang malaki na ang difference. Unless you are getting the diesel version of the Korean choices, size is the only real advantage... For around 20k difference Strada GLS-V 4x4 might be a better deal... Rumor has it na rin na possibly the new (non-face lifted edition) is coming out next year if that is a consideration.

Bottomline, test drive all your choices first, one might really standout to you and your spouse.

I do think it's the best choice.
Pero kung non VGT, mag MT ka na lang, para less felt ang turbo lag.

It's a good choice especially for a newly wed couple. It has space that will be very useful pag nagkababy na.

I have to agree with Thumbdrive, less felt ang turbo lag kung MT. Mine is a GLSV model, medyo felt yung turbo lag below 1800 rpm. Not sure about sa GLX AT. Not really a deal breaker, if you ask me. Di naman ako maselan sa ganyan. Besides, once nakabwelo ang MS, di na sya papaiwan sa iba.

Try to drive test your choices, medyo on the heavy side ang steering ng MS. Although, I havent heard any complaints from my wife regarding steering. Sanayan lang din siguro.

Good luck sa car hunting sir...

Turbo kicks in * 2000rpm up, thats why when the tachometer needle reack 2k line you'll notice a sudden acceleration, turbo lag is like a delay of turbo's kick

I think for GLS-V, lower than 2000 rpm but higher than 1800 rpm, at least base on my experience. Anyway, yung sipa nararamdaman ko above 1800 rpm pero talagang iba ang acceleration above 2k rpm.

If you can feel the scratches with uour fingernail specially if its too deep enough, hindi na kaya ng scratch remover or to just detail it, you really need a repaint.
