Yes, the Lancer EX GLS and Tuscon are worlds apart... maybe you ended up with the both of them due to closeness of the price range...
If you think you will need more room for luggage, then it might be the Tucson.
Otherwise, if a 4 door sedan will suffice and fun-to-drive factor is what you are searching for, then by all means, get the Lancer!

June 29th, 2009 03:42 PM #1432Hi frds,
I just wanted to ask if there's something wong with my trip computer...
Once i filled up my tank it said 440km til my next refill....but when i eventually loaded i only got 360km out of it? is it coz the 440km is an approximation of mixed city and highway? People say that the 1.8 civic a/t has consumption of a 1.5...is this true? and since the altis is an efficient car....does this mean just becasue the lancer ex is a 2.0, it has the worst FC in this compact car segment?? Im worrying now that my purchase based on it being the most impressive looking one in the segment, but maybe down the line with that kind of FC, I may live to rgret it. Hope not tho. With the charts of crude oil at a steady climb pa naman now. For Lancer EX owners how do you get 400+ kms to a full tank??
ALso, does the FC improve after the 1000pms??
Tthanks if you can answer my questions friends.

Matipid po ang EX...contrary to what others say...back read po kayo madaming owners dito ang nagsasabi for a 2.0 car its FC is ok...relax lang kayo and enjoy your ride...dati din kakaba kaba ako, pero after 6 mos, first hand experience po, ITS FC IS GOOD..comparable to manual 1.6 altis..

The Estimated Trip Meter Reading given by the EX's onboard computer is based on your current FC (press mode a couple of times til you arrive on the real time FC meter e.g km/l or L/100km reading) It only give's you the estimate distance you could travel at the rate of the Fuel Consumption reading.
Sample computation:
I had a 440km reading on my estimated distance I can travel when I had a full tank awhile ago.
440 - estimated distance
---- - divided by
59 Liters - full tank capacity
=
7.5km/l Fuel consumption
My FC is based on city driving and a lot of traffic, SLEX > Edsa > Roxas Boulevard Route.
I've been an EX user for 6 months and I haven't complained on it's FC's one bit, I have a 2007 FD 2.0 and daily drive it before (had to give it up to wifey though), bonestock same conditions, i could only get a max of around 6+km/l.
The EX's FC is comparable to most of the 1.6L engine compact cars out in the market. Considering the EX's 2.0L engine, giving you around 7.5-8.5km/l FC is as good as it gets.
Congratulations on your Lancer EX sir.
No offense to FD users out there, but this is just me on a comparo FC, and I still love the FD we have.
Lancer EX GT-A user here by the way.

yes pwede palagyan ng aftermarket rear back up sensors yan, If it would help you a lot, why not. Specially if variant mo is GT or GT-A which comes with the spoiler. I'm not sure though if that voids electrical warranty.
regarding fuel, the manual indicated a 95 ron or higher rating, I'm not sure though, some ex owners I know uses unleaded, haven't heard anyone use E10 though.
I've been using V-Power ever since I got my GT-A.
regarding speakers, check the settings if on it maybe set on all FRONT then 0 on REAR.

June 29th, 2009 08:21 PM #1436Thanks for the input... my first choice is actually Tucson, but I am having second thoughts with Lancer EX GLS (nagandahan kasi ako dun sa nakadisplay showroom nila).
I am currently located in Saudi Arabia.
Parehong full options, Tucson 4WD (automatic) here costs SR63,000 (approx P788,000), while the Lancer costs SR66,000 (approx P825,000). I am just wondering ang presyo sa Pinas is magkalayo Tucson 4WD is P1.2M while Lancer EX GLS is P938,000.
Then again thanks again for the input. Atleast it is coming from you who both owns a Lancer and a Tucson.
I think I will go for the Tucson.

if practicality and higher ground clearance, the tucson clearly wins but when you prefer uniqueness and style, it will be the lancer.
