Pero yung P1k x 20 nila ilang oras yun. Sa admission, 10 mins lang P20k.

I guess depende pa rin sa specialization. Sa Surgeon siempre admission/procedure. Pag pedia sa consultation I assume.

Specialization matters specially yung may operations.

Yup more or less 1 hr na operation 6 digits agad. May doctors pala na whole morning nila sunod sunod procedure nila so in one day they can earn at least P500k

Professional fees have already been adjusted to include taxes ... so the patient is the one paying BIR ... just like medicine prices have been adjusted to cover cost of senior citizen's discount ... same with restaurants ... ultimately, it's the consumer who pays ...

And how much lang report nila kay BIR?
imo, pag dumaan sa cashier or with OR, malamang kasama sa declaration nila yon.

    it's common knowledge,
it usually depends on the type of hospital and the type of room the patient occupies.
high-fallutin' horsepitals and high-end private rooms do tend to command higher PF, in comparison to low-fallutin' horsepital and low-end private room or semi-private room or ward.

Never met them

No idea talaga doc I guess we got really spoiled by our family friends. There was a time my Dad had to be admitted and there was no room available so he was placed at the ICU (but for a regular room charge) Everyone was shocked why my Dad was at the ICU LOL. We were friends with the Nuns kasi that handled that hospital, but they have all passed on and it was bought by Metro Pacific na rin.

Saka tied-up talaga sa room yung charges. The more expensive the room, the more expensive the charges. But the doctors fees are really kinda high na pala ngaun. Baka inflation, vat, and senior discount factored in na.

    as an aside,

can't speak for the other MD schools, but in my alma mater, maraming humble beginnings who still like to hold on to theirs.

    but even so,
put yourself in your shoes, "how would you rate a paying patient, if you see him in the presidental room, and espy the Lange on his wrist, the pair of ferragami under his hospital bed, and the kiton hanging in the closet? would you charge sticker-price PF, and would you give a real discount if he asked for one?"
dress down, folks. make our decision-making process easier for us. and we don't know cubic zirconia from natural gem-quality diamond, either.

    true story.
    i have a colleague, who's a marshmallow at heart,
"dr. d, if the patient asks for a discount, i'll do him for free."
i believe him, because my wife does the same.
and the quality of our work, does not change. "personal pride and all that."

"we were doing dozens (tens of dozens? i lost count...) of these for almost-free, back when we were resident trainees. what's a couple more?"

May himala, nauna kami sa Surgeon. We have a 9 am appointment and the secretary messaged me at 9:04 na the doctor arrived na. We were 15 mins away pa, so embarrassing. Although kami lang ang patient for that day kasi technically he has no clinic pag Monday.

So it seems like ang mga surgeon wala talaga masyado consult kasi with Dr APS and Dr Cutie ganyan din, most of the time sila nauuna pa Although we know them naman at ka message personally, this surgeon, hindi naman "kakilala" but he was on time! Anyway, after our consult he left na rin.

Mas matagal pa kwentuhan namin sa check up. It turns out that he went to the same HS as my Kuya and the same college as my Mom. He is very familiar din with where we live kasi his classmate used to live there so he knows the streets. His family is also from Laguna so we talked about families. Anyway, after that hindi na masama loob ng Mommy ko sa fee niya kasi mabait naman and lots in common daw. He gave his personal number din after Mommy said we'll send him fruits kapag nag ani kami, para we still keep in touch with him.

He contemplated on moving din daw sa US. Kung ako surgeon dito, NO WAY!

I asked the staff sa St Luke's sabi hindi naman daw, kaya agreed to a pricier room than our first admission.

Anyway, dapat pala talaga we wore our worst clothes para mukhang kawawa. My Dad tried that before nung naka bangga driver namin (NG BAHAY among others) and we had to talk to the other party. My Dad told my Lola to wear duster so we would look kawawa, then we drove my Lolo's oldest car. Wala naman ata effect because my Dad is 6 ft tall mestizo. He doesn't look kawawa no matter how hard he tries.
