There's this girl in the office that really annoys me. I never told anyone about it except my BF.
She has a bum for a husband yet they could afford a car. Apparently that's where his husband's "assets" endsYan ang napapala ng social climber. Ang mayaman sa kanya maganda car, phone and accessories. She gets to ride a car to work but has the task of earning for the family.
She always has the latest phone and ipod.
I get embarrassed when I am with her because she would always comment whenever she would see a girl with a designer bag. She wants an LV (and has now moved on to Balenciaga) and yet she complains about her in laws freeloading on their rice supply. How sophisticated. I'd rather be alone or be with my guy friends than hang out with her. I cannot imaine how people could stand her.
One thing about social climbers is they tend to embarrass themselves. Sometimes it's entertaining but this girl is just plain annoying.
Sosyal has nothing to do with material possessions. It's all about how the person handles himself/herself. Annabella Rama lives in a class A subdivision in Makati, owns expensive cars, jewelry and bags but I would never call her sosyal.Last edited by _Cathy_; July 11th, 2010 at 02:18 PM.

JJGF, now that's a perfect example of pa-sosi
--
like Cathy said, social climbers notice the "things" of other people
kung ano ang car, handbag, cellphone, gadgets, clothes, shades, shoes
their thinking is, if you're rich, you should be able to afford those things
since that's their standard of rich, all they have to do is acquire symbols that make them look rich...
so when they have those things, feeling rich na sila
since they judge other people based on "gamit", so sila din very conscious sila sa "gamit" nilaLast edited by uls; July 11th, 2010 at 02:38 PM.

*JJGF What car does that girl drive ba? Any yabang naman niya. I drove my ex's delivery van before and I had fun with it.

One thing I notice about the pa-sosi is that they so hard to join the real sosi crowd but fail miserably. pag nagsalita na kung anu-anong basura lumalabas sa bungaga. Total fail.
I drove an old tamaraw FX back in freshman year at DSLU. It has failed me twice by overheating in the middle of heavy traffic at Taft Avenue. the second time, A pa-sosi "friend" nonchalantly passed me even I made eye contact and nodded for help. We were going to the same class and I know we're not gonna be late because the car broke down past Pedro Gil and there's still 45 minutes allowance before the class. I had to push the car to the nearby Shell gas station alone and leave it there. So I walked the remainder of the way, and lo and behold I saw the asshole smoking at Agno (most lasallians know of this tambayan). Again, indifferently ignoring me.
After a few months, the FX got replaced by a civic SiR. He's the first guy who approached me and said "Wow, pare, dude, nice car". Muntik ko nang sapakin.
Yeah decorative bollard. A proper one is supposed to stop even a heavy truck. Apparently the ones...
