Especially since Bill Gates came from a relatively wealthy family. As you mentioned, the rich are born with so many advantages that it's easier for them to maintain their status than it is for a poor person to achieve the same.
I agree bro, I also believe in the saying that you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. So spending more time with entrepreneurs really sharpens the entreprenurial thinking - something that I've lost as I've moved from petroleum to FMCG since I deal less with business owners now and talk more to other corporate folks.
But I think the statement is there to remind us not to compare our progress with someone who was dealt with much better cards. The odds are really stacked against those who started with less in life, but progress is still progress and netting out positive vs where you started is already a win even if you don't match the progress of those who started off rich already.
