The photo comparison makes the assumption that all those people live in the same area and work in the same area ... but in reality, they don't ... or it's rare ... and not everyone is willing to cycle 10+ kms to work ... unless you're one of those people that don't sweat ... when you reach the workplace, what do you do? ... take a bath? change clothes? ...

Naasar ako sa parents ko before they made me study AND work so close to home! I had a good job offer in QC before but my Mom said no because it's too far, that was back in 2008. Now I am thankful that my Mom did not bend the rule. I accepted my current job and our building is in Ayala Ave, during my first week at the job I CRIED out of frustration because it took me 30 mins to get out of the parking ad cross Paseo de Roxas! (that is only a few hundred meters) It should only take me less than 15 mins to go home

But like you said, how I can I walk to work wearing long sleeves, skirt and high heels? Umaga pa lang mukha ng basang sisiw Even when I drive, umaga pa lang pagod na ko na stress ng traffic at parking And that is one of the many reasons I love my boss because he let me come in after rush hour na, everyday kasi reklamo ko traffic at parking

I can't get over what my Kuya said na he is afraid for me because I think like a 20 yr old, there are a lot of things I cannot do anymore because of my age, I can't just start a new life, I can't just quit my job, I can't just move to another country, etc etc. I don't have a grasp of reality daw.

Nasabihan pa friends ko at ako na tanga for having a positive mindset that we can find a job this year. Sigurado daw bagsak namin online seller hahaha

Pero napaisip ako, my Kuya says I have a great job (I agree) so I should be thankful that I have a job that gives me full salary while working from home, and why am I even thinking of leaving at this time because things will only get worse.

Isa sa nabasa ko, there's this teacher na may crush sa isang student. Nagcoconfide siya sa friend nung girl. They're 16 yo. They eventually graduated but later, nalaman nila na nakasuhan itong teacher for having a ***ual relationship with a student na minor. Consensual naman daw sabi nung teacher. Pano mo nasabing consensual eh minor yun kayang kaya utuin yun. nakaligtas nga yung friend niya yun pala may nabiktimang iba. Adults should really leave minors alone. They're not fair game.

I firsthand know 2 women who married their professor in college. Kahit na college age, cringe pa rin...

We also had a teacher that students were crushing on, he was still in his 20s, handsome, smart and comes from a good family, he was very professional, dodging all flirtations (reminds me of crush)

pumutok din last year iyong ***ual harassment complaints last year sa ibang profs sa old university ko. na highlight din tuloy iyong mga nangyari/nangyayari na relationships between students and faculty members even though the parties involved were no longer minors. it's unprofessional nga naman, to say the least.

and apparently sa high school ko naman, sumingaw din sa twitter iyong, well, homophobia, for the lack of a better word; ng mga teachers namin dati. looking back, i guess some peeps from the academe (and the student body itself) , really made lives for some young and impressionable adults a living hell.

buti na lang times were different then. kids back in the day were made of sterner stuff that's why they turned out pretty well adjusted naman. but still, iba din siguro talaga dinanas ng mga co-students ko back then who led alternative life styles.

but i guess may psychological scars pa din kasi when my old high school buddies meet-up, there are several gay classmates and friends who consistently do not show-up. there's probably a lot of hurt in them pa din.
