I know a bank teller, same position for 25 years. Sinasahod niya 40K++ a month, pero teller pa rin siya. Comfort zone na kasi.

Could be that, could be ayaw niya ng more responsibility, could be comfort zone, could be anything actually.

Point is, it's up to us whether we want to go up the ladder or build our own ladder.

Always aim for improvement but be content at the same time. Napaka paradoxical pero doable naman.

re Cathy saying she can't live alone on 100K/month

    seriously she can't

as it is now living in her parents' house she can spend 50-70K/month

sa lagay na yan she doesn't have to pay rent, utilities, groceries etc

Mejo malaki nga yung 50 to 70k a month on expenses.

Not to compare pero worth mentioning, si MR BIG, he spends that amount but he has a family.

Another reason of our meager spending is my work/school is walking distance, another thing is, we dont have any vices, me and the wife dont drink or smoke, when we eat out, most of the time, i just have house water, clothes..we just shop at uniqlo or h&m..

Everybody is different. I have seen people letting go of opportunities and a potentially bright future dahil nahomesick. I personally do not understand and if you argue long term vs immediate discomfort parang wala sense yung decision nila na umuwi dahil lang nahomesick. Kayang-kaya intellectually kaso emotionally di kinaya. Maybe she really CAN'T.

I think wala one size fits all. Yung tipong if you do this and that magiging successful ka kasi if it worked for others the formula should work for you too...i know of several people who went for careers and paths that didn't make sense but they are better off financially than the more conservative ones like me.

Everyone takes risks. Risk sa transfer ng company is baka di mo na kasundo bagong officemates or sablay/hindi supportuve management or di ka magiging as fulfilled compared sa current comfort zone kahit masmalaki sahod. Si cathy yung gamble niya finding in time someone like crush who will make all her dreams come true.

Kulang kasi hindi niya binabago lifestyle niya.

Again, there is so much you can control in your life. There's been over 10 pages overnight with lots of advice from so many people. But all that is pointless if you don't get moving and make adjustments to your life to align it with what you want to achieve.

So Cathy - decide what you plan to adjust in your life to make it better. Otherwise you will whine aboht the same things again a few weeks down the road.

    anyway...

tingin ko kung hindi ma-meet ni Cathy ang dream guy niya she'll just stay single for life

kahit tumanda siya mag isa di naman siya gugutomin

financially she doesn't need a man

she has safety nets from both sides of her family

Wow! no vices! hehe although i don't consider drinking a vice since hindi mo naman hinahanap hanap talaga.

Yes, eating out costs a lot. Alam ko margins ng restaurants should be at least 300%, so imagine all the money you can save by just eating at home.

For clothes, yes. Hindi na uso and classy tingnan ang mga may in-your-face branding.
