Mas masarap kasi talaga alcohol and coffee with cigarettes e. Nakapag quit naman kami ng friends ko in our 30s Halos wala na naman kabataan na smokers ngayon, I do give credit to the media and government etc kasi matindi talaga anti smoking campaign nila tapos ang mahal na daw ng yosi ngayon.

not really, kung masarap naman talaga. Admittedly may oral fixation din ako (I still remember the epic tantrum I threw when I was weaned me off bottle feeding kasi I am in school na). Totoo yung hinahanap yung something in the mouth and I like breathing the smoke out

If you tried cold turkey and it wasn't effective, then it means you're not yet really ready to quit. For me that's where you need to focus on, not how to stop. I was a smoker. Smoked since high school. Blue seal pa binibili. Cool eh. Started with Benson and Hedges and eventually settled for Marlboro Mediums. Twice I tried to stop. One gradual and one cold turkey. Didn't work. Up until a few years ago I was doing at least a pack a day. I'm in my late 40s so just imagine how much I've smoked. When I met sina dreamur, CVT, etc, ilang beses ako pumunta sa smoking area. Eventually around 2018 I think I woke up and said to myself, "This is gonna be my last pack". I wanted to stop. It's not because of some medical test result or anything. I just wanted to stop. So yeah, I kept my word. For someone who smokes a pack a day, that last pack lasted me for 3 weeks. Talagang control na sinisimot ko and I was savoring each stick. Finally, after the last stick, that's it. Kept my end of the bargain. Didn't tell anyone, not even my partner. In fact, she was surprised when I told her after several weeks that I already quit. She doesn't mind anyway if I do or don't. When she met me I was a smoker already so tanggap na. I didn't count the days or weeks or months that I stopped. I just wanted to stop. When people found out, some asked if I do vaping now. I said, no. I never looked for an alternative to smoking. I just wanted to stop. So until today, I still haven't smoked. If you really want to stop, just condition your mind that you want to stop. Doesn't matter how you do it. Just stop. If you can't do it now, don't. Go ahead and smoke. I've been there and I don't deny that I like doing it. Now if you decide you want to stop, then just STOP.

Started smoking in high school too (first year), because I wanted to be "cool" din. I used to smoke mga half pack lang naman a day. I quit summer before going to college because it came to a point that I was stealing coins from my mom's piggy bank just so I could buy a few sticks. I then said to myself kakahiya na to. So I then quit cold turkey. I started picking up the habit again when I started working, but I only smoked pag may inuman. Then my fiends & I had a biggest loser contest & decided to quit na talaga. Been smokeless for more than a decade now (does mj count? hehe). Hardest part really is probably the first week. After that, kaya na yan! Like I mentioned here before, ang dali lang mag quit! Ilang beses ko na ginawa yun! hehe.

For those who quit smoking, you NEVER touched a cigarette na since quitting or kaya niyo occasionally a few sticks (eg twice or thrice a year) Napansin ko since I quit I don't need prophylaxis as much anymore, dati every 3 mos nagpapa cleaning ako

Anyway, okay siguro mga EB sa Tsikot about a decade ago marami pang smokers hehehe. All this talk makes me miss nights out smoking and drinking tuloy Nagulat ako mga nagsasabing smokers dito na hindi ko inexpect na smokers

Guess as long as you want to quit, the little non-use might add up and eventually led to complete stoppage.

Tried smoking in HS, didn't like it the first time so never na naulit.

    Kudos to you sir!

Pag 40s turn off na kasi para sakin rite of passage ang smoking, it's just something fun young people do and for me there's a disconnect dahil pag 40s nasa serious phase na ng buhay and no matter how fit and healthy, it's an age where you can't stop the clock anymore (eg metabolism and skin etc) It's like each cigarette is taking a minute off the person's life. When you're young kasi you can really abuse your body and not feel anything, but in your 40s may effect na yan.

I think generation ko ang last na it's cool to smoke. Those born in the 90s wala na ko kilalang smokers. Sa office namin sa buong department namin mostly 20s, almost 100 kami and NOBODY smokes. What a difference, when I was a new hire in the late 2000s (so majority kami ang 20s) nagkaka asaran at issue pa samin yung mga officemate namin na "buraot" hahaha! Yung mahilig maki bum ng yosi or manghiram ng lighter tapos hindi na ibabalik. Lucky for the young ones now, that is not an issue.
never ko yata naisip cool mag yosi
curious siguro kasi dami nag yosi sa bahay
nung mahuli ako ng mom ko nag yosi ako, tinaong pako kanino daw ako natuto hahaha
