Bottom line is, the reason why theories (any) and religion exists is that the basis of each camp's "facts" cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt at this very point in time.

I don't believe in so-called holy-scriptures from any religion as all of them are written and interpreted by man, no better than you and me intellectually.

At least evolutionists are still open minded enough to research further rather than just basing in on a single line of a god created man.

So if you're not Christian, you don't really exist since you don't believe or know the Christian God?

 Oo nga, no? Actually, according to the Bible, we can't exist. Because only people of Jewish descent originated from Adam and Eve. (They never did explain where Cain found his wife!).

Pero, in finality, to paraphrase Jesus Christ: "Give unto Darwin what is Darwin's, and Give unto God what is God's." In other words, leave the explanation of the physical universe to the scientists, and leave the salvation of souls to the priests.

I believe in both, but I tend to lean more toward the scientific side of things.

Especially when you consider that the church stubbornly believed that the Earth was the center of the universe, until Johannes Kepler and Nicolaus Copernicus proved that nothing could be farther from the truth.

    creationism.

tanong lang po sa mga naniniwala sa evolution.
so where are we heading along the evolutionary line?
will we evolve further? like have smaller bodies and bigger
heads to compensate for the fact that more and more
people are riding vehicles, work in front of computers
for most part of the day, watch television and play computer
games, with very little time for physical activity?

maybe we are still evolving. kaya siguro maraming
nakakalbo because they have no more need for
the hair to cool their heads because we can now control
    our immediate environment.

no offense sa mga nakakalbo. :8)
if i am not mistaken, you are ahead of us in
    the evolutionary ladder.

according to the bible, man can be found in all parts of the world
because God dispersed them when they were building the tower
of babel. this can be read in genesis.

my two sense (common and 6th)!

Tanong lang rin po sa naniniwala sa Creationism...

So technically speaking ok lang incest sa Christianity since we all theoretically came from Adam and Eve?

I don't think it was documented that a pair of humans were spread every 1000km apart, so that there can be different race, colour, etc variances among the human race?

Did Noah also put a TRex and catch a pair of mosquitos in the process? There are so many things that just don't hold water unless you believe in that book.

"According to the Bible" statements means squat to others.

If an Islamic faith person starts to tell you that the "according to the Koran..." does that make his claim any more true than yours?

Again, it's not even a debatable issue since both camps are trying to defend something that can't be quantified other than "faith"... Whether it's a religious faith or scientific faith.

*laracroft: No we aren't evolving in the classical sense anymore. Once man became intelliget, the need for evolution for survival ceased. Right now, we are evolving merely as a matter of ***ual selection and not survival selection. Basically, we won't grow more intelligent, just prettier.

And given the Tower of Babel, that still doesn't explain where Cain's wife came from. Many Christians try to defend this, but their arguments fall very very short.

*Bogeyman: Yup, but the Church did eventually agree that Copernicus was headed in the right direction... and Galileo... and Darwin. Like I said, the Catholic Church no longer denounces the process of Evolution. It's just the Creationists and Intelligent Design groups in the Bible Belt of America who do.

*theveed: scientific faith doesn't mean faith in the theory of evolution, but faith in the scientific process which generated it. If, by scientific process and investigation, a better theory is put forward, then scientists will embrace it. Faith in creation is a belief in the literal correctness of the story of creation, as put forth in Hebraic books... without any consideration of available proof and evidence.

And since I don't look remotely Jewish, my faith in those books isn't very great. I may subscribe to the Christian religion, but not to the Jewish story of creation.

Well in Star Trek life on earth was seeded by an advanced ancient race of humanoids which look very similar to us. I suppose that's possible.

As for evolution, the probability of life coming out of random interactions in a primordial soup can be very very slim. But then again the universe is very BIG with lots of time in its hands. I suppose that's possible too...

    evolution. I'm an atheist.

for some religionists...the adam and eve story and other stories like the tree of knowledge, etc, are all metaphors and should not be interpreted as literal..so there are 2 types of bible believers..the literalists and those who believe the bible stories as metaphors and stories point to a something bigger...

me?....i don't believe in the bible..no offense meant but for me..the bible stories are myth, no proof whatsoever that it's possible and most of books tells of jewish history.

Discovery channel all the way! hehe...

The bible was written in a manner to suit the time and the people it was intended for. that's why context is very important. this means of interpretation is quickly used to justify conflicting teachings within the bible or maneuver passages to suit a particular religion's beliefs. but it seems to me that when it comes to creation, pastors, priests and other leaders are so tight-assed about it.

maybe Genesis was written in a very simple manner to suit man's comprehension during that period time. If God started talking about dark matter, blackholes, Dinosaurs, Dna and what not, Adam would puke his guts out and die before he was lead to sin by that broad, Eve (joke lang po mga girls--). hehehe. after hundreds of years of christianity, they still fail to answer who cain married. They don't even mention that they were black (hehe).

a lot of hardcore Christians believe that Genesis is to be interpreted in a very literal way. They even have museum tours just to say that evolution is "BS" and that adam and eve lived side by side with raptors and T-rexs.

    what if God loves science?

According to "The Book of Adam and Eve," a part of the pseudographical texts, Cain had a twin sister named Luluwa which meant beautiful, before Abel and his twin sister Aklia was born. Luluwa was to be bethroted to Abel as per the recommendation of Adam and Eve; this sparked the beginning of Cain's hatred and jealousy towards Abel. When Cain killed Abel, he took Luluwa away.

"The Book of Adam and Eve" made mention of five children: Cain and Luluwa (twins), Abel and Aklia (twins), and of course, Seth. It is an interesting read, as it details the trials and sufferings that Adam and Eve supposedly have undergone when they were stripped of their "godliness."

pero just as any other civilization like yun forefathers natin sa mars, may religion din.

so yun Bible and the God there, lumipat lang din dito. kumbaga nag-transfer lang hehehe. but still there is a God! hehehe
