Man-yi will hit supertyphoon strength just before hitting landfall in the Philippines.

Accuweather is predicting it to reach Category 4:

The US Navy's Joint Typhoon Warning Center just posted 140 knots (259 kph) sustained wind speeds for Man-yi ("Pepito") and gusts up to 170 knots (315 kph); that puts Pepito at a Category 5 level.

Forecast seems to have been downgraded. Before going to bed Weather Underground had us for thunderstorms from around 1pm to 8pm, now it's just rainshowers.

The Sierra Madre was the storm-breaker.

There's a lot of quarrying going on and plans for building a dam or two. I hope the government realizes how important our mountains are.

Bad weather class suspension policy to be reviewed

    Just a moment...

It's about time. Too many class days wasted. This is more important than reserve parking.
