^For rush aircon cleaning, try teko.ph online booking. So far consistent good performance.
It feels like I am in a sauna. I just took a bath in the afternoon and have to take a bath again
It's been quite humid during the last few days at least. The A/C is needed, but not quite to really lower the temperature, but as a dehumidifier. So when you sweat, it has somewhere to evaporate to. To save on electricity, we've only set the main A/C at 27°C for comfort cooling and to get the humidity down to around 40-50%. Without A/C, the indoor humidity gets into the 60-70%.
Took a bath for the third time today, my hair isn't even dry yet from my last bath. WOW.
It's like a blast furnace outside. The A/Cs are being taxed to their limits. Where before during the cooler months, the 2.5HP split will just sip around 500-700W all day. But now, it's pulling anywhere between 1,500-2,500W.
The history of our monthly power consumption reflects on the significant rise in temperature:
Feb: 585.68 kWh
Mar: 734.35 kWh
Apr: 491.77 kWh (and we're just halfway through the month).. projected to reach 950-1,000 kWh (0.95-1 MWh) by the end of April. Yikes!
I've been dabbling with the idea of adding a water mist system to the outdoor A/C unit condenser cores to increase efficiency. However, that will also increase water consumption.
Installing solar power, if only to run the A/Cs, seems to be mighty enticing right now.
I was older na when I realized the importance of trees, passive cooling and large windows. My parents' room face the backyard (with lots of trees) and have large windows on three sides so it's still comfortable until now. My room is sauna/oven like because I only have one side with windows.
if you have a firewall, plent trees near them. the trees will coolify the firewall.
we have styrofoam insulation under our roof... it helps, somewhat.
we had to trim our mango tree, even as it was producing good fruit and good sunshade.
nababagsakan na kasi the car...
we also have to have our alulodes cleaned regularly... so many mango leaves in them!

Our house is surrounded by trees, my side puro bamboo, but then I only have one side of my room with windows kaya mainit pa rin. We don't have firewall doc because our house is surrounded by garden (?) all around. I forgot what it's called pero we followed the rule na there is minimum distance from the structure of your home to the wall/bakod? It seems like modern homes now rarely follow this, when I used to watch real estate videos on youtube.
We have a huge mango tree also, our neighbor to the left and right, both have mango trees too! Pero yung sa isang side apple mango which I absolutely love. Ours indian mango, we used to have 2, one near the gate and one near my parents room, sadly, my Dad had to cut down the one near their room, masarap pa naman bunga nun, kasi something to do with delikado daw. Mango trees malakas makasira ng foundation daw, our second gate cannot be opened na parang na mis align ata, probably because of the mango tree. My Lola's lanai naman cracked open yung floor becauase of the mango too
BTT: It's not as bad as yesterday, I can survive with fan pa. I don't know why my fat lab throws a tantrum when the AC is on. She wasn't like that naman before.
