Hahaha nahiya yun GMA at whole day special coverage for typhoon uls, hinde puro cartoons and foreign movie na dub sa tagakog like nun typhoon rolly.

Oh wait, the Duterte government SCRAPPED Project NOAH.
Panahon pa ni noynoy nawalan ng pondo yang project noah, DOST-UP yan, in conflict na sa PAG ASA at MGB.

Speaking for myself I think I was adequately warned

Even if i tried to downplay it my mind there's no denying tatamaan ang NCR and by the looks of satellite photos madami ulan ito

So I entertained the thought baka Ondoy uli ito

    Madaling araw yun

Maybe people thought it won't get worse na last night and went to sleep
I'm guilty of this. I thought it was gonna be another Rolly. I had ZERO preparations at all. If I knew the typhoon was gonna be bad, I wouldn't have left my car out on the street. Come midnight nga sumisipol na yung hangin! WTF! I was up until 4 am because fat lab was so restless, worried din ako baka matanggal yung bubong na ginawa ng all around namin sa bodega. Yung all around namin nagalala because we have a humongous over 2 story high mango tree but that survived milenyo so that was not my concern.

That's true, caught off guard ako. Marami pala lugar sa MM wala pa kuryente until now

even if the barangay town crier were to walk the streets with a basmayor-type loudspeaker,
it still takes a lot of willpower, to leave one's house.
i imagine, if the warning were because they were gonna explode a nuclear bomb in the river, many folks will probably still choose to hide it out in their ref, or in the banyo.

Realistically ano bang paghanda ang gagawin? Pag meron bagyo darating? There's really nothing you can do about it.

    O.T.

Kamusta kaya si Ms. LM? From Cainta sya diba?

i'm not from the area, so i do not know what warnings the local authorities there, did.
but in my cellphone, the messages i got were generic warnings to seek higher ground,
no estimates re. flood water heights were mentioned.

i am wondering, what specific warnings did the local authorities do, in the area?

    my cellphone does.
some of my colleagues, when their cellphones receive these warning messages, sound off with a very noisy racket. nakaka-bigla.

For those who live in flood prone areas, move their cars to higher ground. Mag charge ng phone/rechargeable light or prepare the generator. Mag ipon ng tubig. Nawalan kami kuryente madaling araw and I did NOT hear any of our neighbors run their generator, pwede din tulog na at hindi napansin nawalan ilaw? Marami sa mga gamit sa garage nagliparan (I leave cash in our garage pang bayad sa deliveries na COD, buti hindi tinangay yung paper weight!)
