And today's temperature is...
MANILA -- The temperature in Metro Manila dropped to 16.9 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning, the lowest since year 2014 started, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
PAGASA said Metro Manila's coldest temperature so far was recorded at 6:20 a.m. at Science Garden in Quezon City.
Meanwhile, temperature in Department of Science and Technology (DOST) - Bicutan also dropped to 18.3 degrees Celsius at 5 a.m., according to Project Noah executive director Dr. Mahar Lagmay.
PAGASA explained the the chilly weather the country has been experiencing is due to the presence of the northeast monsoon or amihan.
Speaking to radio dzMM, weather forecaster Glaiza Escullar said the country will continue to experience cool weather until the second week of March.Last edited by Monseratto; January 25th, 2014 at 12:38 PM.

Metro Manila temperature reaches new low at 15.8° Celsius
January 26, 2014 7:14am
Temperatures in Metro Manila hit a new low Sunday, going down more than one degree Celsius from Saturday's 16.9° C, state weather forecasters said.
PAGASA said its measurements at the Science Garden in Quezon City showed the predawn Sunday temperature at 15.8° C, radio dzBB's Rodil Vega reported.
On Saturday, PAGASA said the 16.9° C was so far the lowest temperature recorded this year.
The dzBB report quoted PAGASA forecaster Aldczar Aurelio as saying the cold weather is due to the northeast monsoon, which may continue until February.
Last Jan. 18, temperatures in the National Capital Region fell to 17.5° C.
But the record-low temperature in NCR was at 15.1 on Feb. 4, 1987 and Dec. 30, 1988. — LBG, GMA News
