This is a different situation from where supplies are dropped onto a military position -- kahit papano, there is some order in that place. If you drop relief goods in the middle of a village...they'll tear each other to pieces.

i think this should be done as a last resort...doing so will not ensure equal distribution of goods, and stoke panic and chaos.

I don't know where you got that info but last night we were at a relief packaging center managed by DSWD and Ateneo. It has a quota of 80,000 bags per night and they have streamlined efforts into a production line. The delays or lull that appears is when they have to pull out the goods for delivery and bring in the supplies; minsan hindi lang nagkakatugma due to various delivery schedules but you can indeed see all the volunteers lined up and the trucks coming, waiting, and going.

I just have to ask him, dahil ang inaanak ko eh Huey Pilot kagagaling ng Zamboanga.

Binagyo kami ng kading nung 1977, around 1am up until 4am. First hour in the morning nagsimula ng dumating ang relief via helicopter.

National government have to mobilize and manage everything since walang natira sa LGU.

No Sign of Help for Philippines from China's Hospital Ship

    http://www.maritime-executive.com/ar...ip-2013-11-15/

While the navies of the United States and its allies rushed to the aid of the typhoon-hit Philippines, a state-of-the-art Chinese hospital ship has stayed at home and in doing so has become a symbol of China's tepid response to the crisis.

The UH-1 sucessor UH/SH-70 in action... The people were in a rush that the chopper couldn't land.

    Aid from Uncle Sam...

Filipino typhoon victims rush to get relief goods from a US Navy Sea Hawk helicopter in the super typhoon devastated town of Salcedo, Samar island province, Philippines, 16 November 2013. Thousands of people were fleeing dire conditions in typhoon-devastated areas of the Philippines despite stepped up efforts to bring them relief from the disaster. At least 3,633 people were killed and nearly two million people were displaced by Typhoon Haiyan, which flattened cities and towns in the eastern Philippines, the government said.

Huh? First you criticized the slow repacking even if all the volunteers are working tirelessly to pitch in every way they can and now you will say this?

Volunteers and National Government work around the clock, heck even MMDA with their head Tolentino are clearing the roads with the little equipment they got void of any media fanfare.

These people are tirelessly working to lift the suffering of the devastated people in several regions around the clock.

Dunno about the pace of the repacking work, but a lot of people have been volunteering. The Red Cross PH have even been advising people that they have enough volunteers, and have been referrging would-be volunteers to other relief efforts(i hate to say it but it seems social networking had a lot do to with it)

I think he's referring sa relief goods ni binay.

For now the volunteer load seems to be okay. What we have to really see is how to keep things going for the long run as you're talking a rebuilding process of years according to some organizations. Looking at the flip side of the coin, it would be a good time to start from a clean sheet of paper and rebuild the devastated areas, and work on getting the economy running, in a great way. Samar - Leyte, Aklan, Antique, etc. have been neglected for so long and abused by the powers that be and it's time the people there get their break.
