No one's wishing ill on their neighbor... but it's always good to grab an opportunity when it presents itself. Better them than us.

Btw, you don't have to believe me, but how those jobs left the RP... let's just say it had a lot to do with Thai 'goodwill'.

in thailand, there are no people in the government that would ask the investors any money or 'lagay' so that they could put up their business in thailand. that's the opposite in the philippines.

Its good there was no bloodshed when it happened. But then .... no one can say what the Thaksin supporters will do once they consolidate their forces. My wife was there last week and she came back only last weekend.

Thank you for proving my point.

Considering how low are our starting point, we should be doing well.

weak dollar = people buy gold instead of dollar

since Philippines have one of the biggest mineral reserves in the world and it was still untapped and undeveloped because of the very long mining ban, we would benefit from high gold prices...

fyi: from 2006 to 2010, around $100B daw ang mamine sa pinas... imagine 2010 onwards... we still have more than $1-2trillion undeveloped mines...

that is why we are strong over the dollar, we have budget surplus, etc... i cant imagine phil 2010, if everything goes well... we might be promoted to 'developed country'

I'd be happier if the gold is actually already above ground.

Edit wishing for rain and actual rain are two different things.
