Another record breaking 24-hour period for Taal.
Plus 25 low frequency earthquakes.
Phivolcs already reported on hybrid events and now low frequency earthquakes na naman. I wonder what's next in their classifications?
Bakit patingitingi ang report. Why not report all their classifications already and just say 0 kung wala?

For almost a year starting on 19 March 2020 when the Alert Level was lowered to 1, the bulletins of Phivolcs only reported the occurences of volcanic earthquakes. There were no other classifications of occurences.
Then on 14 February 2021, it included occurences of volcanic tremor episodes.
Then came occurences of hybrid events on 9 March 2021.
And now another kind of occurence which is low frequency earthquakes is being reported. If reported separately, then these are different from volcanic earthquakes, I supppose.
So, what other classifications are there? Better if Phivolcs lists them all and then tracks all of these. If there are no occurences for a particular classification, then they should just put 0 (zero).
Same here but when new classifications/occurences are included, it adds to the confusion.
A simple single sentence saying "There are no occurences of tremor episodes, hybrid events, low frequency volcanic earthquakes and [add all the other occurences being monitored]" will suffice.
It will not make the bulletin any more kilometric and technical.
Just my 2cents worth in trying to decipher these Phivolcs bulletins for us laymen.
TAAL VOLCANO BULLETIN: 26 March 2 21 8: A.M.
Taal registered its 3rd straight day of triple digit volcanic quakes and tremors.
The 270 volcanic earthquakes is the highest registered so far.
TAAL VOLCANO BULLETIN: 27 March 2 21 8: A.M.
4th straight day of triple digit volcanic earthquakes and tremor episodes.
A new record high for volcanic quakes (302) and the first triple digit low frequency earthquakes (117)

State of Taal real time is helpful, at least to us here who were very much affected by the ashfall.
Shows that the rumbling is still underneath and may just stay there.
But if some form of steam or smoke start appearing regularly and steadily, then there is time to prepare for the eventual eruption.
In our case, preparation means covering up the vehicles, outside AC compressors, tarps for lawns/plants, etc.
But of course, if this is a sudden eruption like what happened in 12 January 2020 when it went from AL1 to AL2 to AL3 to AL4 in a matter of hours, there is nothing we can do.
